9 Months Later

Clary was laying down on her bed. She knew the baby would come any day and she was scared. Clary loved when she felt the baby kick, and heard it's heartbeat inside of her.

Sebastian would be no kinder to her child than he was to her, and he claimed he loved Clary. Over the past nine months Clary had grown to love the child growing inside her even if it was part Sebastian.

Sebastian walked into the room looking anxious.

"How do you feel? Any change?" His voice was slightly impatient. He wanted to raise the child to be a monster. Clary would fight him though, she would protect the baby, she had found a reason to fight.

"No, still the same." Clary replied after rolling her eyes. He was always with her, aways a few steps behind her. It was suffocatingly annoying.

Sebastian had been kinder since she found out she is pregnant but he still hit her and punished her when she disobeyed his orders.

Then all the sudden she felt her water break. She screamed. The pain came in large waves. Sebastian was by her side as soon as she had screamed.

"Amatis! Help me get Clary to the infirmary!"

Clary screamed again.

***

Clary was waiting for Amatis to finish cleaning her son so she could hold him. Clary was impatiently taping her fingers on the bed, her face set in a scowl.

Amatis with a worried expression. Was something wrong with him? Panic flooded her vision. Amatis place the small baby in Clary's arms. He fit perfectly in her arms. He didn't cry, only made small noises of joy.

The baby opened his eyes and Clary froze. A familiar pair of gold eyes looked into Clary's green ones. His golden hair was soft and silky.

He looked like a mini Jace.

Clary felt happiness. The baby was squealing with happiness, his small face innocent, uncorrupted. Then she felt fear, Sebastian would kill him, the only thing she had left of Jace.

Sebastian was suddenly by her side. He looked at the child with a special kind of hate he had saved for only one other person, and that person was now dead.

His face changed and Clary saw the murderous boy underneath, the one who laughed while Hodge died and killed Jace.

"What . . . is this?" His tone was scary calm. His eyes were black tunnels. The baby was also looking at Sebastian, he cowered into Clary, as if for protection.

"I-I d-don't know." Clary stuttered. She was scared, not for herself but for her son who was now crying.

Sebastian walked out of the room, his body shaking with anger.

Clary looked back at her son who had calmed down once Sebastian left.

"James Christopher Herondale." She whispered to the tiny child in her arms.
