It had been more than an hour since Sebastian had left. James was sleeping in a crib next to Clary's bed. Amatis glared at her from the corner of the room.

Clary stood up slowly. She walked out of the infirmary and into the cold hallway. The ground was cold on her feet.

Clary went door to door opening at random. She needed to find Sebastian and talk some sense into him. The urge to protect James was the only thing she was thinking about.

Clary opened a door and looked inside. She froze. What she saw was something that made her think she had died and went to heaven. Jace was sitting a a twin sized bed reading a book.

"J-Jace h-how? He said you were d-dead?" She managed to choke out.

Jace turned once he heard her voice. He ran to her and wrapped his arms around her. She cried into his chest. She held on to him, afraid if she let him go he would disappear.

"I'm here Clary. I've been so worried for you." He said soothingly. He used the voice he reserved only for her. The voice she fell in love with.

"Jace I have to tell you something. I just had a baby." Clary said while wiping the tear from her eyes.

Jace looked away  Hurt and sadness written on his lovely face "Jace its not Sebastian's. It's yours. He has your golden eyes and hair. He looks just like you." Clary wanted to see his reaction. Would he be horrified?

"How? Does Sebastian know?" Jace sounded like a worried

"Yes he knows." Clary whispered. She didn't want to leave Jace, but we needed to get back to James. Sebastian would kill him, she knew, and she could not let that happen.

"C-can I meet him?What's his name?" Jace asked nervously. Did he think I would give him the Morgenstern name?

"James Christopher Herondale."

Jace smiled, and closed his eyes."James." He repeated. Clary wanted to throw her arms around him and kiss him, but he had to meet James.

"I'm going to go get him. Stay here." Clary said gently. Jace nodded warily, obviously not happy with her leaving.

Clary ran back to the infirmary and saw Sebastian holding James.
