Clary screamed. She didn't know what else to do.
Sebastian turned to her."How was your little chat with Jace? It's always nice to catch up with people, especially when you thought they were dead." His expression was unreadable.
"Don't hurt James." Clary's voice came out surprisingly strong.
He smirked"Why would I hurt him?" He faked a hurt expression. It made Clary want to smack him.
"B-because he's Jace's son, not yours." Clary said stupidly. Way to go Clary, She thought state the obvious. Sebastian looked at her with thinly veiled anger.
"I decided to let you keep it. You and I are still going to have a child, and if you protest then James dies." He said without emotion.
Sebastian walked up to Clary, his hands on her waist."If I were you, I would be careful around me for the next few days. You never know what I might do." He said warningly, his voice promising terrible things were going to come.
He stalked out of the room without saying anything else. Clary absently wondered where he was going.
Clary ran to James when she heard the door slam shut. Clary picked James up and walked carefully to Jace's room. James looked up at her with sleepy eyes. He giggled as Clary strocked his face.
Jace was sitting on his bed again reading. Clary saw the title. A Tale of Two Cities. Clary remembered him reading it to her. Clary walked over and sat down beside him.
He looked at James with wide eyes. James stared at Jace, too. He
"Can I hold him?" Clary put James gently in his arm's. Jace smiled at the child in his arms. But soon after he frowned.
"What's wrong?" Clary felt sick again.
"This shouldn't have happened like this. We should be back home with James, with all our friends." He sounded like a child complaining. In another circumstance, Clary would have found it adorable.
"We will find a way Jace. At first I was willing to live like this but James can't. We will find a way." She sounded strong but inside she felt hopeless.
Jace nodded clearly not believing her.
"Do you know where everyone else is? Are they okay?" She asked.
"They're in the rooms on this hallway. No ones seen each other since we got here." He said sadly. Clary had just noticed the dark circles that were under his eyes. It looked like he had lost weight.
Clary took James back and walked out. Jace followed her as she walked into the room across from Jace's.
Inside the room was Jocelyn, and a bleeding Luke with Sebastian standing over him.
