Clary walked to her and Sebastian's room in a hurry. She knew what to do.
Clary opened the door and froze. She had forgotten all about Sebastian's threat.
He stood by the foot of the bed with a menacing look on his face. He smiled a terrible smile when he saw her. He slowly took a step towards her.
"You forgot didn't you? The dog couldn't die so you have to be punished." He took another step towards her.
Clary kept her face strong even though she felt her stomach doing flips. He took another step.
Now Sebastian was only a foot away from her. He brought up his hand and belted her across the face. Clary felt the pain immediately.
Clary fell to the floor. She held her cheek and refused to cry out in pain. Tears stung her eyes.
Sebastian roughly pulled her to her feet and threw her against the wall. He leaned close to her ear.
"You don't question my orders. If I say the dog dies the dog dies! You understand me. If you question me again James dies. Do I make myself clear?" Clary could feel his lips move against her skin.
Clary nodded, not trusting herself to speak.
He shoved her to the bed. Clary let her tears fall. She knew this would happen.
"Let's work on that son." Sebastian said.
***
Clary awoke with a sharp, almost painful, feeling in her stomach. She ran to the bathroom, and emptied the contents of her stomach into the toilet.
Fear took over her body. She convinced herself it was just because she had given birth not long ago.
Clary and the group worked the next week on a plan. Clary had woken up alone. Today was the day. The day they would be free. It had to be.
Clary went over to the dresser and picked up Heosphoros. The blade still had a slight glow to it.
Clary looked at the bed again. She saw a note on Sebastian's pillow. She picked it up and read it.
Meet me in the throne room, wear something nice.
-Sebastian
She threw on a long black dress that had a slit up the right side, and showed alot of chest.
Clary walked to the throne room an saw everyone there.
Clary had hid Heosphoros in a left thigh sheath so no one would see it.
James was in Jace's arms. Clary had let Jace keep him during the nights in case it never happened again. Clary would visit them everyday, much to Sebastian's annoyance. He had said she should only spent time with him.
Jace looked up as Clary approached with a nervous expression on his face. Clary walked up the throne steps, where Sebastian sat, waiting.
Sebastian smiled a crule smile as she sat down.
"What's going on?" Clary asked nervously.
"We are sending them back. They are to much trouble to keep around." Sebastian said without emotion.
Clary froze."I thought all the entrances were closed."
"Asmodeus can send them back. They can live their pathetic lives, while you stay her and rule Edom with me."
"What about James! I can't leave him!" Clary started hyperventilating. She couldn't leave her son, whom she loved more than anything.
"He could live a better life." Sebastian said uncaring, oblivious to how much she truly hated him.
Clary thought about this. They would be safe. At least safer then it was here for them.
Clary thought about Heosphoros, still hidden. What if that didn't work? It was the most painful decision she had ever had to make.
"Okay send them back."
