Katie’s POV

Thanksgiving weekend

“LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!” I singsong, jumping on Emilea’s bed.

“For you!” Em pouts punching me.

“I know!” I grin bouncing off of her bed and going back to my house. I see the outfit that Lou had let me borrow from the interview and put it on. I try and make it look like Lou had it. By the time my makeup is done and I finish my hair Emilea is already down in my kitchen eating something from my fridge.

“You look really happy.” She says after looking me up and down.

“That is because today is my last day of high school, tomorrow is Thanksgiving   and then I get to spend however long away with my boyfriend! Could my life GET better??” I ask happily. I put a smoothie into a Styrofoam cup and Emilea and I run out to my car.

“Nope. It couldn’t get better!” Em laughs handing me my keys. I nod in agreement and we head over to school.

“Hey beautiful ladies!” Harry exclaims pulling me into a hug the moment I climb out of the car. I return it and Emilea kisses his cheek before leading us inside.

“Assembly in the gym in 10 minutes. Everyone needs to be in the gym in 10 minutes.” The intercom crackles just as Harry, Emilea, and I sit down in our class.

“I bet that is for a few people (ME) who are graduating early!!” I say excitedly, leading Harry and Emilea over to the gym. Emilea punches me in the shoulder and I grin and blush when Harry slings his arms around my shoulder.

“Cute.” He comments patting my red cheeks. I gently smack his hand away and the principal grabs me.

“You need to put on your robes.” He says while Harry stays by me and Emilea waves goodbye and goes to her seat.

“Robes?” I ask in disbelief.

“Yes, your graduation cap is there too.” He explains ushering me towards the dressing room. Harry pecks my mouth quickly and I run over to the room.

“OMG! HEY KATIE!” Hanna grins giving me a hug.

“Hello, Hanna. I didn’t know you were graduating early.” I say looking around the room. I see 50 or 60 people there all putting their robes on over their outfits.

“I HAVE CAPS!” Someone yells loudly. Everyone crowds around the man waving his hands wildly and Hanna pulls me over with her. The man finds my name and hands me a cap with colored tassels.

“Yours are different than mine.” Hanna says fingering her tassels.

“Well, one of mine is for acting and then that English award and then the Thespian award…what is yours for?” I ask her after looking closer at her only tassel.

“Oh this is just a participation award.” Hanna says with a happy smile. I shake my head at her and follow the crowd of people out of the small room.

“This is our early graduating class.” The principal starts already standing on the podium. The secretary says names in order so that we can be in alphabetical order so we can get our diplomas quickly. My name is towards the beginning so I end up having to wait around after my name is called.

“Well that was fun!” Harry exclaims, finding me after we are dismissed.

“Dude, I was graduating and I almost fell asleep.” I laugh letting him lead me out to the car.

“Poor Em; she doesn’t graduate until spring.” Harry comments, while sliding into the car.

“I know, but I am more worried for the people in there. Em will kill people if they piss her off. I like to think I am able to calm her down, but she has got a lovely temper. She is going to murder people…” I laugh. I look out the window and think about how my four years of high school are finally over.

“You look really deep in thought.” Harry laughs, nudging me when we stop at a light.

“I am…when are we going on our trip?” I ask turning towards him.

“Tomorrow.” He replies pulling into the parking lot of the place that I spend most of my time anymore.

“I cannot wait.”
