Katie’s POV

“I cannot believe you lost the way.” I mutter glaring over at Harry.

“I’m sorry!” Harry moans pulling at his hair and looking rather deranged.

“Sorry means you won’t do it again and I have a feeling you’ll get us lost again.” I frown crossing my arms and slumping on a tree.

“I said I was sorry! I’m not totally to blame!” Harry exclaims leaning across from me.

“Whose ‘brilliant’ idea was it to get away from the trail?” I ask feeling myself get angry.

“Mine.” He says quietly.

“And whose brilliant idea was it to go on a hike anyway?” I shout getting up and putting my hands on my hip in my I’m-ready-to-fuck-shit-up stance.

“Mine. I get it! I messed up Katie!” He yells back.

“Okay, we can yell!” I scream back.

“You started yelling first!!” Harry shouts again.

“Why are you being so pigheaded?” I shriek pushing his shoulders. He barely even stumbles backwards. I push him again and he grabs me and kisses me harshly. I push him off of me and glare at him.

“Don’t touch me! I’m sooo pissed at you right now!” I shriek. He looks at me rather insulted for a moment.

“Oh fuck it.” I murmur just before I jump up and wrap my legs around his hips. Harry stumbles back and falls on the forestry floor. Harry groans and I smile slightly. We reconnect our mouths and Harry pulls back a touch.

“Katie. Katie. OW!” Harry says arching his back. I stop kissing him and climb off a little.

“There’s a stick in my back.” Harry grins pulling the stick out from under us.

“I’m scared.” I whisper after the adrenaline and hormones stop rushing in my ears. Harry glances over at me and pulls me flush against him.

“It’s okay, baby.” Harry murmurs in my hair.

“No it isn’t Harry! We’re lost indefinitely.” I say scrunching up my nose and feeling tears prick the back of my eyes. My lower lip starts to tremble and within minutes I am full scale sobbing. Harry doesn’t say anything but he rubs my back and holds me closely. Harry reaches down into my coat pockets and then down to my jeans.

“What are you-d-doing?” I sniff loudly.

“Do you happen to have your cell phone?” He asks looking at me softly.

“It’s in my butt pocket.” I say burying my face in his chest again. Harry rolls me over a little and reaches in my butt pocket.

“Sweet! You have a flashlight!” Harry says trying to sound cheerful. He helps me up and takes my hand. He turns on the light and starts walking forward. I hear a howl in the distance and I jump.

“Come here, baby.” He says opening his arms. I rush at him and wrap an arm around him. Harry hooks a thumb in one of my belt straps and I stick close.

“It’s too dark to be wandering around.” I say trembling again. Harry kisses the top of my head but otherwise ignores me.

“Do you see that too?” He asks excitedly after a moment.

“What?” I ask straining my eyes in the darkness.

“THE TRAIL!” He shouts running towards it. I’m dragged with him and I am relieved to see he is right.

“We might live through the night.” I laugh feeling tears of happiness run down my face.

“Oh, baby. We’re going to live for sure.” He grins as we follow the trail out of the woods.
