I am looking through my locker frantically. Ellie's favourite book isn't here. It's been here since she died because I had to clear out her locker. It's gone. "Ahem." Someone clears their throat behind me.

I turn round and see the class clown of my grade. "Looking for this you pig." He smirks. "Oh fuck off Dennis." I groan snatching the book from his hands. He's never said anything to me, and the first thing he says is pig? What an arsehole.

I put the book back in its safe place and lock it before changing the passcode. I walk to my first period. Theo and half the football team walk in. I ignore Theo in class because it's bad enough sitting with him and his friends at dinner.

I am lost in a trance all the way through the lesson and my thoughts are disrupted when I hear my name. "Maya!" The teacher shouts. "Yes?" I puzzle. "What's the answer?" She asks staring directly at me.

I stutter trying to think. Shit. "I don't know." I say under my breath. "You should be paying attention! Get out of my lesson!" She screams. "Go to hell Miss Shitface." I scoff. "I will report you to the principal!" She shouts as I walk out.

I turn round in the doorway. "Wait a minute, report me?" I say sarcastically holding my hand over my mouth. "I have one more thing..." I say whilst making it look like I'm thinking. "That's it." I smile before putting my middle finger up towards her.

I see Theo trying not to laugh. I'm so done with that awful teacher. I wonder the corridor and the principal calls me to his office. I roll my eyes and walk there immediately.

He sits me down and starts to speak, "I will let this off just once, but I will have to transfer you to a different class." He explains whilst I nod. I had double Miss Shitface today meaning I was trialling the new class this afternoon.

I was dreading it.

I went to gym class before dinner where we were running on a track. "You good?" Theo asks as he runs along side me. "Yeah, I've been transferred to a different class." I explain as I run. He nods and laughs. He runs away from me and the football team follow.

They are like a pack of wolves, always together. My peace is soon disrupted when the class clown Dennis appears by my side. "You're a chubby pig aren't you." He comments whilst looking down towards my legs. I frown at him and run off.

Thick thighs. I have them. I am the girl with thick thighs, every grade has at least one. I happen to fall into the fate of the thick thigh gang. I hated it. They would chaff whenever I wore shorts or a skirt. My joggers would be ruined after a few weeks. You know the worst thing about my thick thighs, it is accompanied by a little pouch on my stomach.

I push the dick comment aside and go and get changed ready for lunch. Another lunch with my brother and his friends. Great. The bell goes and I make my way to the cafeteria.

It was burger and tater tots for lunch today, not my favourite but it'll do. After grabbing my meal I walk towards the table my brother and a few of his friends are at. I sit down without saying a thing. It feels awkward, but it's only me that feels awkward.

The football team see it as they are just at my house and they aren't bothered I'm sat here. I still feel like an intruder though. I start to eat my tater tots when Dennis walks past. He makes an oinking sound.

I roll my eyes and carry on eating my tater tots. I soon start to feel full and sick when I let Dennis' comment roam my head rent free. Why can't I just block him out? I've never experienced this before.

I push my burger towards my brother who will never let food go to waste. "Why don't you want it?" He puzzles whilst pulling a frown towards me. "I just don't." I sigh.
