— Time skip —

Today is April fools. Today would've usually been filled with pranks by the football team. But my life has drastically changed since then.

I fell in love.

I'll be attending school later. But right now, I'm having my last physio session. Finally.

It's been a long journey up in this leg brace, but at least I'm alive. From today, I can walk free with no support. No crutches, no relying on people. I can be independent again, and I have craved this moment.

I'll be able to take my new car out for a spin. I plan to drive to the football match tonight.

"Come on, we are going to be late." My mum waddles to the front door. She's ready to pop at any minute. They decided to wait and see what gender the baby it is until it's born. I'm excited.

Walking out of the door with my boot on is something I'm going to miss. It's been a part of me for quite a while. But boy am I excited to have my leg back.

We reach the car and we both get in and drive to my appointment. We aren't there too long. It's all good and they take that ugly boot away. I am so happy right now.

I walk free with my mum back to the car. She is going to drop me off so I can get in my own car. Pathetic to some, exciting to me.

The drive back was interesting. My mum was talking about how her and Michael might be going away for a day or two before the baby gets here. I'm so confused. She could literally give birth any minute.

"So when are you going?" I puzzle. "Tonight, after the game." She smiles. "Ooooo, are you excited?" I smile back. She nods eagerly.

"Grandma and grandpa aren't far away, they are there if you need them." My mum explains. "We will be fine." I reassure her. She nods and soon enough we are home.

"Please be careful." She begs. "I will." I smile before getting into my new car and starting it up. "Bye, I love you." She sounds out. "Bye mum, I love you." I reply whilst driving away.

This feels like a breeze. I've missed this too much. I drive steadily to school and when I get there I park up. I immediately get out of my car and walk to the bleachers.

All the boys are on the pitch, practising for later. Miles sees me and nudges Noah. Noah looks up rather frustrated, but when he sees me his gaze softens.

I start walking towards him, he closes the distance by running towards me. "Hey." He smiles as he releases a breath. "Aww baby what's wrong?" I frown reaching up and holding his cheeks.

"Coach has us working extra hard because this is the championship final." He sighs. "You've easily won the championship before." I shrug.

"This one determines our futures. Headmasters from big colleges are going to be in the stands." He continues. "I believe in you baby." I try to reassure him. He seems to ease a little bit but he is still tense.

"Everything will be okay." I reach up and kiss his forehead. His eyes shut and soak in the moment. "NOAH, LAPS NOW." Coach screams as he makes everyone do more laps.

Noah kisses my forehead and runs off to the other players. When their laps have finished it's lunch. They all take a quick shower and then join me at the usual table.

"How's freedom feel?" Theo messes my hair up. "Very nice." I smile. Noah comes up behind me after Theo and smooths my hair back down. "Thank you." I blush.

"My pleasure sweetheart." Noah smiles before kissing my rosy tinted cheek. We all sit together and eat. My eating habits have got better. I'm now a healthy weight, how I was before. I've learnt to accept my body, sometimes bad days still happen. There's nothing I can do to change that. So I've accepted it.
