i packed my shit into a duffel-bag and had my mom drive me to the airport. Tubbo sent me a screenshot of the ticket information and I was on my way. The plane ride wasn't long at all and soon enough I was met with Kai and Izzy at the airport.
"Caroline is out to lunch with her parents while we wait for Toby!" Izzy said, pulling me by the wrist behind her.
"Hello to you too." I said, putting my bag on the ground behind me. "Does Caroline not know hes coming?"
"Not at all. She knows you're coming and that he bought you a ticket. She knows that Jack and Tommy are coming and he bought them a ticket. He said he had to work on some behind the scenes and stuff for starting a server and editing and streaming and he's too overloaded to come." Ozzy explained, keeping an eye out for the british people.
"They're right there." Kai said, a half smile on her face as she stared at them.
"I can drive if you wanna sit with Jack." I offered. Her smile faltered and she looked at me.
"No, that's actually the last thing i want right now."
I nodded, not pushing her to talk on it whatsoever. I havent been on twitter much recently, so I wasn't sure what happened. I knew someone would catch me up, just not sure when.
We all walked out to the car. Kai was driving, I was passenger for my legs, Tommy and Izzy sat in the second row of the car and Toby and Jack sat in the third row of seats Kai had set up prior to everyone getting in the car.
Will was flying in tomorrow, or so Caroline texted me in the car. I don't even know whats happening, all I know is in on the way to Caroline's and I feel like I shouldn't be. I feel like I took Asterin's place and thats the last thing I want.
"So how are we doing this anyway?" I asked. My voice cut the silence but nobody really seemed pressed about it. Besides Kai who had a white knuckle grip in the steering wheel, but I had a mild assumption it was not because of me.
"We go and we see Caroline." Izzy said with a shrug. "We drop off the stuff in the hotel rooms and await Mother Dearest's message."
"Alright." I said, shrugging alongside the words. I turned my head and looked out the window.
"Change of plans. We leave everything in the car and go to her aunt's apartment building. She knows Kai Ranboo and I will be there waiting, none of the rest of you though. She knows you lot are coming just no knowledge of when." Izzy said, typing quickly on her phone. Kai handed me her phone and told me to pull up the directions. As soon as I got the phone, Izzy sent the address and I put it into the gps. I put her phone back on the magnetic holster and we sat in silence the rest of the way.
Once we arrived, everyone got out of the car and walked into the apartment complex. Toby and Izzy walked up to the front desk while mist of the others walked into the glass walled sitting area. Kai and Jack were sitting on opposite ends of the sofa, both just on their phones. Tommy was stood next to me outside the door, waiting for the others. Izzy walked over and Toby followed behind.
"Everything get worked out?" Tommy asked, opening his arms on instinct as Izzy walked into them. She leaned back against his chest with a soft smile.
"Yup!" Izzy said happily.
"So I thought Asterin was supposed to be coming." Tommy said, looking at Toby pointedly. I sighed quietly, praying Tommy didn't start anything and ruin Caroline's birthday.
"Be nice, Tom, or I'm sending you home. Asterin didnt respond to coming so she didnt come, leave it at that." Izzy said, voice stern.
"Sorry." He mumbled before turning to me. "It is nice to see you too, man. I was just shocked that you two would be in the same room together and then realized what you being here actually meant and, yeah. No harm meant, though."
"No problem, I was surprised when Caroline asked me too." I mumbled.
"So, what's going on with Kai and Jack?" Toby asked, looking between all of us. I shrugged but Izzy and Tommy knew more.
"They just fought." Izzy explained. There was definitely more to that.
"About?"
"So how long are you here anyway?" Tommy asked, turning to me. I figured Izzy could handle the conversation so I just talked with Tommy.
"Im not actually sure. A few days maybe? A week at the most because I have some work to do and such, but probably not longer than you guys." I said casually, trying not to say anything to anger Tom. His flip can switch almost immediately and in tired of fighting with him. "How about you guys?"
"Oh, probably a week or two. Im not sure when Toby scheduled our flights back." Tom said with a smile. I smiled back, enjoying the conversation with him fir the first time in a while.
"Can we get back on topic because nobody seems overly concerned about how Kai and Jack are sitting in the same room and acting like strangers." Tubbo said frantically. Apparently Izzy didn't have that conversation in the bag.
"Can you drop it?" Izzy asked. "They can probably hear you!"
"We can." They both said in unison, neither looking up from their phones.
Izzy sighed and walked into the room, pulling away from Tommy. We all followed and sat in silence until Caroline and her family walked in. Tubbo was in the bathroom when they came into the room which wasn't planned, but it probably should have been.
"Oh my gosh, I didn't know you all were coming today." Caroline said, shock filling her face. "Well, except for you Xavier."
I stood up and hugged her with a smile before greeting her family once again.
"Caroline!" Toby yelled and I looked away from her parents and towards the door.
"Oh my god, what are you doing here?" She asked, running to the door and hugging Toby happily.
"Happy birthday." He said with an excited laugh as he hugged her back.
I miss that feeling
