MADDIE feels like she made a big mistake. Post—inviting Lydia, she obviously had to tell her best friends about the addition. Stiles' reaction was tantalizing. He was mad, not at Maddie ( though that certainly hasn't stopped her from feeling tremendously guilty for thinking of someone other than herself ), but at the fact she had added a plus one.

She felt like the whole world was against her, all over a simple thing like this. A part of her expected Stiles to be excited about it considering the sizeable crush he has on Lydia but if anything, he seemed more frustrated. She didn't understand, despite her crush on him, she went out of her comfort zone to bring Lydia, to try and make her best friend happy, and instead it had the opposite effect. But she couldn't cancel on Lydia just because of his reaction. That would be worse; Lydia's already isolated enough after she was basically exiled from the top of the chain and booted to The Middles. She decided that getting Stiles to forgive her would be an easier feat than with the strawberry blonde.

Stiles gave in, though Maddie certainly enjoyed overthinking the sigh before he told her to let Lydia come along. She made a mistake, that she can see, but why are the mistakes she makes always when she thinks she's doing a good thing?

She had an hour to get all of that off her mind though.

Right now, Maddie sits at the end of Allison's bed, legs crossed as she listens to music through her headphones. It's a dedicated girl's night before the group night according to Allison who insisted it happened. It didn't make it any less awkward when she walked through the front doors and was met face to face with Allison's dad.

Maybe if he wasn't trying to kill her best friend, it wouldn't have been as awkward. Especially when he started talking to her, asking if everyone was behaving, acting like a concerned dad to Lydia but a wary hunter to his daughter and Maddie. Thankfully, Allison swept her away to her room before Maddie could feel even more cornered.

It's a couple hours before the three of them are bothered, talking about school, gossip —— the latter brought up by Lydia who has become unbothered by the rumours going on around her; Maddie and Allison aren't able to shake it off as easily. A knock on the wall takes the girls' attention, all of them looking over to see Allison's dad standing by the door. "Headed out?"

"Studying," Allison replies. Her father gives her a look, a tiny direction of his head calling her over. She sighs, dropping her gloves on the bed and heading over. "Just studying, dad."

Maddie glances towards them as Chris Argent puts an arm around his daughter, turning their backs to the other girls. Lydia, with no interest in the conversation, starts taking selfies on her phone, Maddie with a different approach and turning down her music and stretching her mundane hearing abilities as far as they can go to listen in. No doubt this secret conversation turning towards the supernatural side —— plus, Maddie's a generally inquisitive person.

"You want me to stop being friends with them?"

"Actually, we want the opposite," her father replies. As quietly as she can, Maddie moves as close to the end of the bed as she can, trying to get close enough to hear better. ". . . need you to keep an eye on them."
