After setting him down on the bed, Blade couldn't help but look at Dan Heng doubtfully.

"What was that?"

Blade thought he had known all of what Dan Heng's powers had to offer, but it was his first time experiencing something like that.

"An interesting little thing, isn't it? It allows me to show someone their memories in the form of short movies or pictures. The catch is that I have no idea what you're seeing, I can only show you things based on certain keywords and what you associate with those keywords, and it almost completely exhausts my mental strength to keep it up for just a few seconds."

'What I associate with certain keywords, huh...'

"Is that why you asked what I missed about him?"

Dan Heng's eyes widened and he slowly turned his head away, avoiding Blade's gaze.

"Yes. I apologize. I hope the question didn't hurt more than-"

"It felt nice. I saw some memories I thought I had long lost or forgotten."

Dan Heng's body stiffened before relaxing as he let out an almost inaudible sigh.

"That's good then. If you want to, later I can-"

"What I want you to do is rest. You look like you haven't slept for weeks even though you just slept through a whole day yesterday."

This earned Blade a small chuckle from the other.

"I guess that's what I get for exhausting my mental strength. You shouldn't worry too much. I should be fine in a few hours at most."

While Blade wanted to believe him, his worry didn't fade even after he had seen with his own eyes that Dan Heng had gone to sleep. Even after checking on him a few more times over the next two hours, his worry didn't completely fade, and just a little later, he discovered that his bad feeling had been right.

When he came to check on the vidyadhara around the three-hour mark, Blade found him running a fever so high, that most would have died from it.

"Sigh... While I've been trying not to compare you two, I can't help but say that your ability to take care of yourself and judge your body's condition is just as awful as Dan Feng's. No, maybe it's a bit better. At least you don't walk around with open wounds hidden under your clothes."

Honestly, Blade didn't really know what to do in this situation. He never had any sort of medication on him, and neither did Dan Heng. The only thing he could think of doing was wiping down his body with a wet cloth, but as he came to this conclusion, he hesitated. It definitely didn't help that the words spoken by Dan Feng's illusion a few days ago decided that now was a good time for them to be remembered.

"You could just strip him. Anyway, there wouldn't really be anything you hadn't seen before."

"Argh! Damn it! I'm not trying to take advantage of him! He's running a fever! I'm just trying to help!"

And that's how Blade finally managed to convince himself to take off Dan Heng's clothes.

It was also at this moment that he found out that he had spoken too soon.

"I take that back. You're just as bad as Dan Feng."

Revealed under his clothes, right above his heart was a barely closed puncture wound.

Blade's chest suddenly tightened and his stomach turned seeing the location of the wound till he realized...

"Wait. That's not mine."
