It was already quite late by the time they returned.
They had both gotten a message indicating that their groups had already returned to the express and their ship respectively. Surprisingly, they were both docked right next to each other.
What was even more surprising, however, was that Dan Heng invited Blade onto the express and into his room.
It took some time for him to convince Pom-Pom that Blade would neither try to kill him nor would he destroy the express, but eventually Dan Heng managed to drag the stellaron hunter back to his cabin.
"Phew!" He let out a sigh of relief as he closed the door.
"Your friends are quite...intense." Blade commented, shivering from some of the looks he got from the other trailblazers.
"Well, it's somewhat understandable. All they know about you is our not-so-pleasant history."
They both chuckled at that.
Still, Blade remained curious about why he was actually here.
He followed Dan Heng's movements as he grabbed a piece of paper and wrote something on it. He then put the paper and a weird-looking box, followed by something he had talked out of his pocket before closing it.
He threw it to Blade without much care, directly turning around to look for something else.
"What's this?" Blade couldn't help but ask.
"Something for that colleague of yours."
"Which one?"
"The scheming one." Dan Heng said bluntly.
At first, Blade wanted to say that they were all scheming, but then he realized that Dan Heng had never met Sam and he used another specific combination of words he would rather not mention for Kafka and Silver Wolf.
"Elio?"
"Right."
While Blade was wondering what in the aeons' nome Dan Heng could possibly want to give to Elio of all people, he still followed the vidyadhara's movements.
Dan Heng had crouched down, opening a closet door to reveal something that looked like a safe.
Within a few button clicks that Dan Heng didn't even bother to hide from Blade, the safe door was open, revealing a few old-looking wooden boxes that looked to be from the Luofu.
Dan Heng took out one of the boxes, opened it, and placed it between him and Blade.
He then reached down and unclipped the jade fastened to his clothes and held it out to Blade.
"This doesn't belong to me. Do with it as you wish."
For a while, Blade just looked at the jade in Dan Heng's hand.
So many memories were tied to this small green object and jet...
To Dan Heng's surprise, he didn't take the jade. Instead, he too reached down and unclipped his own.
"And this one... Doesn't belong to me." Blade smiled at Dan Heng.
Hearing his answer, Dan Heng too broke out in a smile.
Together, they placed the two jades together, laying them in the box before closing it.
And just like this, the two little pieces that had seen so much were finally united once and for all.
