Blade had no idea how to deal with the sudden river of tears that started screaming down Dan Heng's face.

Even an idiot would have realized that Dan Heng really had no idea who he was. Let alone Yingxing, he didn't even remember Blade.

And that was the problem.

Even if Blade wanted to be angry at him for forgetting him once again, he couldn't. This sudden memory loss was most likely caused by the same thing that made him lose his reason the day before, and because of this, no matter how angry Blade wanted to be at the moment, he couldn't even muster up a bit of annoyance.

The only thing he could do was pull the sobbing vidyadhara down, into his embrace, drawing soothing circles on his back.

Just a day ago, Blade would have loved nothing more than to drive his sword through Dan Heng's heart, but now...

There was no way he would be able to do it.

"Maybe you don't remember because I'm not worth remembering." Blade muttered quietly.

It was just an offhand thought, something that had gone through his mind hundreds of times before.

Maybe he was forgotten because he wasn't worth remembering.

This quitly muttered sentence from him however was awarded by intense pain in his neck.

"Hiss! What the hell?!"

His hand shot to his neck in shock as Dan Heng propped himself up a bit, looking deeply into his eyes.

"How about you stop spouting nonsense?! Just what kind of person would you need to be for you to think you're not even worth remembering?!" He shouted in anger.

"I- I- I need to go." Blade spat out eventually and before Dan Heng could react, he slipped away and out the door.

He couldn't stay. He didn't want to stay. He was terribly afraid that he would say something that he would regret again.

"Well, that didn't go well."

"Shut up. You're the last person I want to see."

Another lie. Another thing he would most likely regret in just a moment when he heard Dan Feng's reaction.

"And yet here I am." The illusion chuckled.

Blade looked up to see the other smiling gently.

"To the roof?"

Blade didn't answer. He simply walked past the other towards the stairs leading up.

The two sat down on the roof looking up at the stars as if nothing was wrong.

In this moment Blade wanted to believe that everything since his revival was nothing but a bad dream, that if he just closed his eyes for a moment, he would be back on the Loufu.

But sadly, that wasn't the case.

"Stars, huh."

"Congratulations. It seems like you slept through a whole day." Dan Feng giggled.

"How is that worthy of a congratulation?"

"Well, you were never big on sleep and rest."

After a small chuckle from Blade, silence ensued between the two. Neither of them spoke for a long time, but they didn't care. Sometimes people just needed the presence of another in such quiet moments to feel fulfilled.
