"Blade." Dan Heng called out to the man who was not so subtly attempting to slip out the door again, causing him to freeze.

"Yes?"

"We should talk."

"Right..."

And that's how the two of them ended up right back on the roof again.

They sat down and stared up at the sky in silence. They both knew that they had a lot to talk about, but neither was quite sure how to go about it.

It was awkward and extremely uncomfortable. That's why neither could hold the silence for long this time.

"You-"

"I-"

And just like that, they both shut up once again.

Eventually, however, it was Blade who finally spoke.

"I'm sorry."

"You've apologized already."

"Yeah, but you couldn't really know what I was apologizing for back then."

"Well, I remember you giving a pretty detailed explanation. So much so, that even now I'm left wondering why you would ever decide to tell all that to someone who doesn't and might never remember."

Under Dan Heng's piercing questioning look, Blade eventually let a soft mumble slip out.

"Maybe I was hoping that I could just throw all of it out there and you might forget it as well."

'But it looks like that all went up in flames.' Blade thought self-mockingly.

At the moment, Blade had no idea what he could say, what he could do. He knew apologies were useless, but he had nothing else to give.

"Say, why the sudden change of heart?" Dan Heng asked suddenly.

"I've been hallucinating Dan Feng recently." Blade said without thinking.

"Hallucinating, you say..."

It was then that Blade truly realized that he had said that out loud without thinking.

'Now he's going to think that I've lost my mind for sure. Well, you couldn't blame him, really.'

He looked at Dan Heng only to see his expression morph into one of annoyance.

'And there it is. He surely-'

"Tsk! That annoying bastard! Even in death, he can't leave people alone!"

Surprisingly, however, Dan Heng's annoyance wasn't directed at him.

"If he wasn't already dead, I would have beaten him to death myself!"

To vent out his frustration, Dan Heng's fist came down on the rooftop, and just like that...

Boom!

Crack-

Both of them jumped up in shock as the roof below them started to crumble and after it completely fell, they thanked the aeons that they didn't sit right above the side of the building that they were actually using.

Blade was the first to get over the shock, after all, it wasn't his first time seeing something like this happen.

"You really should pay a bit more attention while in this form. Your strength-"

"Shouldn't be this strong." Dan Heng mumbled, interrupting Blade.

The vidyadhara's eyes were filled with shock as he stood there, looking at the crumbling roof, frozen in place.
