When Dan Heng opened his eyes, he found himself in an unknown place that somehow gave him a sense of familiarity.
It was a giant mansion on the Luofu, lavishly decorated, yet still managing to seem reserved.
Putting all of these details together, it wasn't all that hard to figure out where he could possibly be. That was also the reason he wasn't really surprised to see a familiar figure sitting by the window, drinking tea, as he looked out on the Luofu.
A man so eerily similar to Dan Heng, yet at the same time, so different.
While Jing Yuan had said that Dan Heng held the air of a high elder, Dan Heng thought that that was nowhere near the truth. The air around Dan Heng was merely a feigned mask of arrogance he sometimes used to protect himself.
Unknown to him tough, Jing Yuan was referring to exactly that. That mask of arrogance both Dan Heng and Dan Feng used when they weren't comfortable.
As Dan Heng approached him, Dan Feng turned around and flashed a small smile.
"Welcome-"
"Well, aren't you one selfish son of a b*tch?" Dan Heng interrupted him.
"Straight down to business, I see. Feel free to insult me all you'd like. I can wait."
Dan Heng didn't need to be told twice, that's for sure. Well, he would have done it anyway, even without an invitation.
"You are a selfish idiot who obviously can't be bothered to give a damn about the consequences of his actions. You have horrible judgment and an even worse personality. You are rash, impatient, idiotic, a complete dumb*ss..."
As the list went on Dan Feng's smile started to crack little by little.
'He's really going all out isn't he?'
"...and above all, you are a horrible excuse of a friend and a lover."
At this, Dan Feng's eyes sharpened in anger.
"You-"
"Me? What me? My whole life is proof of that and so is Blade's. Can You honestly say that what I said is wrong?"
The anger inside him died down instantly and was instead replaced by a sting in his chest.
"Anyway, why are you here?"
"Why? You should be asking yourself, after all, I'm merely-"
"I'm not stupid and I'm most definitely not that naive, so just spit out the reason."
Hearing this, Dan Feng let out a long sigh.
"I wanted to ask you to give him another chance."
"Is that why you sealed my memories of him?"
Dan Heng's words were stabbing right into the other's guilty conscience.
"Sigh... You're right. My apologies."
"Is this really the thing you should be apologizing for?"
"Do you want me to apologize for the other things?" Dan Feng asked in return, but he already knew the answer.
"Not necessary."
Righ. He was the type who would find it useless.
"I don't have that much time to waste." Dan Heng added unexpectedly.
"Ugh... You're ruthless, aren't you?"
"You deserve it."
And then, the two fell into silence.
