Tap.

Tap. Tap.

Tap. Tap. Tap!

Tap! Tap! Crack!

Blade cast an annoyed glance at the broken table under his hand, clicking his tongue.

"Tsk!"

He looked over at Dan Heng who was curled up on his bed, the frown on the vidyadhara's face deeper each time Blade looked at him.

'Is he not feeling well?'

"Maybe he's injured." A voice sounded behind him.

"I would have noticed if he was in-"

Blade's head immediately snapped around, sword drawn ready to strike.

When he did get a good look at the intruder, however, his blade dropped right out of his hand, clattering on the floor.

A familiar figure sat on the windowsill. Long black hair, azure horns, a tail, and that pair of glowing blue eyes.

Instantly, Blade looked over to the bed only to find Dan Heng still lying there.

Picking up his blade, he slowly took a few steps to stand between the two, keeping the sleeping vidyadhara behind him, his eyes never leaving the man on the windowsill.

"Oh? How can you be so sure that he's the real one?" The man chuckled.

There was a short silence before Blade finally managed to speak.

"Dan Feng..."

"Correct."

"But you're..."

"Dead?" Dan Feng raised an eyebrow.

Blade flinched at the word that came out of his lover's mouth before taking a deep breath.

"You can't be real."

"And he can? After so many years of you blatantly refusing to acknowledge the fact that we are two different people, you're surprisingly sure that he's real and I'm not."

As he spoke, Dan Feng got off the windowsill, taking a few steps towards Blade. The other raised his sword but was left unable to move in the end as the vidyadhara pushed his blade aside with a chuckle, walking past him.

"How did you figure out that I was Dan Feng so quickly anyway?" He asked, settling down on the edge of the bed.

Taking another deep breath, Blade sheathed his sword before he spat out a single word.

"Arrogance."

"Excuse me?"

"You always had that arrogant look of superiority in your eyes. He doesn't have that." Blade spoke.

He had heated his sword but he was in no way relaxed. It was still unknown if the one he was seeing was in some way the effect of the stellaron or-

"You're thinking in the right direction."

"!!"

"I'm merely an illusion. A fragment of your imagination, if you will. Whether I'm the result of the stellaron's influence or it's just the mara finally going to your head remains to be seen."  The illusion shrugged his shoulders.

"Hah! I really have gone crazy..."

'To think that not only would my mind create something like this, but even a fragment of my own imagination couldn't be even a bit less arrogant than the original.'
