Love in the theater

Chapter 1

New York, 1978

Loretta was in her apartment, going to her closet to find the perfect outfit for Grace Jones' birthday party that night.
While going through her things, Babette, her roommate was also searching for the perfect outfit.

"Hey Loretta, have you seen my black heels? I searched everywhere and I don't find them" Babette yelled from her bedroom

"No sorry, I don't have any black heels here" Loretta yelled back

After searching for Babette's black heels, she continued to look into her closet. That's when she found her prom dress 'Oh I wonder if that would still fit me' she thought, looking at the red dress that was hanging there.
She then found dark red heels that she wore at the Prom.

"Okay I think I found the perfect dress, what do you think?" Babette said walking into Loretta's bedroom.
She was wearing a beautiful green dress with green sequins on the lower part.

"Woaw this dress looks beautiful, well to be honest I don't even know if I already saw you wearing one" she chuckled

"Yeah you're right now let's talk about you Miss Durkin, did you find something to wear?" Babette asked, raising her eyebrow

"Oh hum yeah" she said, showing her friend the dress.
"that's my prom dress, it still looks good but I'm not sure I can still fit in it"

Babette looked at her like if she was crazy
"Are you out of your mind? You don't have to worry about that, maybe I should but not you, it's been more than 10 years and you didn't gain one pound"

"Yeah maybe you're right, okay I'm gonna go to the bathroom and put that on" Loretta said as she walked away with her red dress

After putting her dress on, Loretta was looking at herself in the mirror. She would never admit it but she looked wonderful in it, the same as 10 years ago.

"Okay Loretta, are you ready? We have to get there soon" Babette yelled

"Yeah yeah I'm coming" she yelled back

Before going out of the bathroom, she put some red lipstick, some eyeshadow and curled her hair.

"Miss Durkin, you look AMAZING! All the guys will fall at your feet" Babette said as Loretta walked in her bedroom

"What? No of course not but thanks" Loretta smiled, a bit embarrassed

"Then if your ready, let's go!"

"Wait, I didn't put my jewels on" Loretta said, rushing to her jewelry box

"Oh for the love of god, please Loretta hurry!" Babette said, waiting for her at the door

"Now I'm ready, we can go!" Loretta said, while still putting her last earring on.

"Okay this time, let's go"

They both took their purses and walked to the door

"I'm a bit nervous" Loretta said trying to close the door

"How can you be nervous? It's a little party and look at you!! Everybody will fall in love with you!" Babette said looking at Loretta up and down

"is it supposed to reassure me? Because it's not working.
Like I don't want all the guys to come at me, I mean, it's Grace's birthday party not mine" Loretta said

Babette put her hand on Loretta's shoulder
"Hey look at me, everything will be fine, try to have fun and if you become too nervous come get me and we will go back home, okay?" she said, trying to calm her

"Yeah yeah I know you're right, everything's gonna be fine" she smiled

"Yeah exactly now let's go or we are going to be really late and I really don't want to miss her birthday" Babette said, walking down the stairs to go to the car

"I, for sure, don't want to miss that either, like it's the first I get to go there and maybe the last. By the way, I don't even know why she invited us"

"Don't question that, it's an occasion to meet new people" she said as they opened the car's doors

"Do you know who's going to be there?"

"Not really, I heard that some important people will be there but I don't know exactly who" Babette said as she kept driving

"Nice, first we don't really know Grace and we won't know the guests"
Loretta said as she started to stress again

"Hey don't worry, as I said it's an opportunity to meet new people and maybe you will meet someone like a producer who's going to hire you for his next show"

"Not going to happen, they don't even know me and I of course don't know them"

"Anyway stop being nervous, maybe it would be better if we talked about something else" Babette said trying to change the subject

"Yeah you're right, then let's gossip" Loretta chuckled

"Now you speak my language" she said as they kept driving to the party

I really hope you liked the first chapter of the new story :)
After watching OMITB I really wanted to write a story about it so here it is.
For the other story I'll try to update soon but I think I'll be more active with this one
