Chapter 3

When she walked back in, Loretta immediately went where Babette was.

"Are you okay" Babette asked as she saw Loretta's red eyes

"Yes I'm perfect, when do you want to go back home?"

"Soon but not now, we've only been here for 3 hours, I still need to find my man remember?" Babette said to try to make her laugh as she knew that Loretta wasn't okay

"Hum yeah okay then i'll take a cab or the bus" Loretta said, ignoring what Babette said. She turned around to walk to the door but Babette immediately grabbed her arm

"Where are you going?"

"I told you, I'm going home I'll try to find a cab don' t worry I'll be okay" she said as some tears fell on her cheeks

"No you won't be okay, I don't want you to go home by yourself, you're way too upset. Come on, I'll ask Oliver  or Richard to take you home"

"No no, it's okay" Loretta said as she didn't want to see anyone, she just wanted to be alone

"No it's not, now you come with me and I'll ask Oliver to take you home. You don't really know Richard and you seemed to enjoy talking to Oliver" Babette said as she took Loretta's hand and started walking to Oliver

"Oliver, could you take Loretta home please? She doesn't feel good"

"Yes yes of course, I was just going to leave" he smiled

"Okay thanks Oliver, now Loretta, I know you'll be with him but still be careful and call here if you need anything" Babette said as she hugged Loretta

"Thanks, I will" Loretta said

"Bye guys, see you soon!" Oliver said as he hugged everyone
"Come with me" he said turning to Loretta

On the way to Oliver's car, Loretta was very quiet and Oliver started to worry. Since he met her, she had been happy and talkative but now she was the opposite, sad and quiet.

"Hey, are you really okay?" Oliver asked as he put his hand on Loretta's shoulder to try to comfort her which made her jump 'cause she was lost in her thoughts

"Yes I am thanks" she said

"I know you're not, you were so joyful earlier and since I saw you outside you seem sad, what happened? Did someone hurt you? Did I say something bad?" he really started to worry that maybe it was because of him

"No nothing happened, I just.. I need to be alone that's all"

"Yes of course but you have to know that if you need anything, I'm here"

"Thank you" she weakly smiled at him

All she needed was time to think, Oliver was so kind and she thought that maybe it was her chance to find a job and a friend but she was scared, scared of being judged or regected once again. The comments of Roberta really got to her as every critics of every directors she auditioned for got to her. This time it was different, Oliver seemed to believe in her but Roberta who seemed to be a very close friend of Oliver didn't.

"Do you want to know more about the play I want you to audition for?" Oliver said to start the conversation

"Hum no no I don't need to" she was still lost in her thoughts

"You never want to know more about the plays you audition for?" he was surprised

"Not always, most of the time I go to an audition to find work, not always when I'm interested in a play"

"So you're saying that you're not interested in my play?" he teased
