Chapter 16

"You're ready?" Mary asked as she came in the bedroom

"Yeah I think so"

"Good. Now be careful, I don't want anything to happen to you" She kissed his lips

"I'll try. Okay now I have to go, the girls will be here soon" he gave her one last kiss and when out of the apartment

When he arrived near Roberta's house, her car wasn't there anymore which was a good sign. He parked his car in front of someone else's house just in case and went to talk to the police officers who were already there.

"Hey!" Richard said shaking George's hand

"Oh Richard, you're here. Are you ready to go in?"

"Yes I am. Did anything change in our plan?"

"No, I talked to the other police officers and they think it's okay. They'll just stay here in case we need them and the medics are on their way" George explained

"Then let's go, I want to get them out of there as quickly as possible"

"Do you have a key or something?"

"No I don't, she never gave her key to anyone"

"It's okay, we'll just try to break the lock"

They both walked to the door and George took an object out of his pocket.

"What's that?" Richard asked, confused

"Something to break the lock" George answered and he bend down on the floor and tried to open the door. They suddenly heard a click and the door opened
"Do you know where they are?" George asked as they carefully walked in

"In the basement, Roberta told us that she kept Loretta there so I think Oliver is there too" he explained

They opened a door and went down the stairs that led to the basement.

"Do you know why there's blood on the floor?" George asked as they stopped in front of another door

"Well sadly I think it's from one of them. I just hope that they are okay" Richard started to panic, scared of what they would find behind the door

George slowly opened the door but the room was dark.

"Is there a switch somewhere? I can't see anything" he asked

Richard exited the room to look for it, he found it and turned the light on.

"Shit, Richard come here!" George yelled from the room

"What?" he said as he ran in. The floor was covered in blood but nobody was there
"Where are they?"

"I'm starting to think that your friend knew that you would be coming here"

"We should have waited a few days before going here, of course she knew. Oliver and I both came to her house yesterday, I'm sure she thought it was weird so when Mary called her she knew that we were up to something"

"They can't be that far"

"I think so too, I don't know where she could have taken them" Richard said as he sat on the floor defeated

"Is there another secret room in this house?"

"I really don't know, she never really showed us her house. We only went into her kitchen and the living room, maybe the toilets too but that's all"

"We have to search everywhere. You'll search downstairs and I will search upstairs okay? We really need to find them today"

"Yeah, after seeing all this blood I'm scared that something really awful happened to them" Richard said as he put his head in his hands
