After her talk with Olivia, she followed a woman from the staff who had called her name.
"Okay so you wait here, when they call your name you go on stage" the woman said and Loretta nodded.
She was nervous, she was now with a famous director and the pressure of that was on her shoulder. She felt like she couldn't mess this audition up.
But she was taken out of her thoughts when she heard a man calling her. She did as she was told and walked on stage."Hi, Miss Durkin, I'm really glad you came. My name's Patrick Clark, the director and producer of the play. So this audition won't be like the others you've already been to, you'll be asked questions and of course you have to answer. Is it okay for you?Patrick explained.
"Yes absolutely" she said, nervously smiling.
"How many plays have you auditioned for?" he asked.
"Oh probably like 20, I don't know how many exactly" she said.
"Did you get hired in one of them?" he asked.
"I was in the first version of The Little Shop of Horrors before they made the film. I played one of the main characters, Audrey." she said with a smile.
"If I remember well that was a pretty famous play, it got lots of good critics" he said looking at his list of questions where he was writing down her answers.
"It was, but there was a problem with the production so it had to close" she explained.
"Nothing to do with the other questions but do you have a family?" he asked still looking down.
"Oh well I do, I have a boyfriend but I can be available when needed. For the rehearsal and everything" she said.
"No children?" he asked
She was now stuck, she thought that if she told the truth then she would never get the role but at the same time she knew that they needed to know just in case.
"I'm pregnant but it's only the beginning of the pregnancy so it won't be a problem" she said, deciding to be honest.
"Last question, why should you be hired for this play and give me three of your qualities" he said.
"Well I think I should be hired because I'm very hard-working, I love what I do so I'll put my entire being in this play and I listen to advice, I think it can always help me getting better at what I do" she said with smile, happy with her answers. She didn't really like to find her qualities, she thoughts it was very self centered to do that but she had to.
"Fine, thank you Miss Durkin, you can go. Have a good day" he said, still writing things on his paper.
"Thank you for your time sir" she said as she started to walk out of the stage until he heard her name being called again so she came back.
"Yes?""Could you wait in the hall until the end of the morning auditions, I would like to talk to you" Patrick said, finally looking up at her with a smile.
"Oh uhm yes of course" she said, smiling back. "See you later then" she walked out and headed to the hall.
As she was sitting there, waiting, the need to call Oliver was so great that she went to find someone from the staff and asked if they had a phone she could use. A young man stopped what he was doing and helped her, showing her where the phone was. She immediately dialed Oliver's number and waited for him to pick up.
"Hello?" she heard him say at the other end of the phone.
"Hey baby, I finished my audition." she said with a smile even if he couldn't see.
