A/N: considering going through and re-writing this story, but it's honestly so ridiculous and oddly written that I might just leave it fjnfjfbjfbjfb, anyways, that last chapter sucked so I'm continuing the story after like 6 years!

-Your POV-

It felt like an eternity, those moments with my fist over my heart, making a promise to the man I loved that I couldn't keep. God, he looked so angry, it almost made me laugh.
I've never been strong, hell, I'm not sure I should have ever joined the corps in the first place with how many times I tripped at fell. It's a miracle I lasted this long to be honest, so many things have happened and I keep finding myself at the centre. I can still taste his minty breath on my lips in these final moments, and I'm glad that, despite my obvious weaknesses, he liked me at all!

I have no need to look up to know that my life is over, well, it's not like I haven't died before. And at least this time I got a kiss out of it. Not to mention, I would rather take in his beautiful form in my final moments.

"Then get another kiss later, I'm not letting you die." All of a sudden my body lurches forwards and I feel my subconscious flung backwards into my mind. Achida. God dammit I just can't do anything by myself can I?

It feels alien, the way my body expertly listens to the commands given by Achida, as if I've been an acrobat for my whole life.
In the three seconds I thought would be might last, I somehow vault out of the way of the incoming titan and it's jaw crashes down into nothing, barely missing my leg by a hair.

My head is pounding, just like it did in that weird dream I had, and I can feel Achida's control slipping. My body tumbles and rolls to rest at Levi's feet and I groan involuntarily. He leans down quickly and picks me up the way I love most, bridal-style, and starts darting off. I look past his shoulder and see a swarm of cadets, the survey corps, flying over and attacking the abnormal titan. They almost look like a swarm of really big flies or something.

"Why the fuck did you do that" my eyes flit over to read Levi's expression, he always looks angry but it looks particularly bad right now, although I don't blame him.

"I thought that by saving you I could-d finally d-do something important with my life." His brows furrow immensely and I look away, I made a mistake.

"That was pathetic. If you want to do something important then train so you can save people without killing yourself." It stings to hear those words from him, but he's right. So far I've been nothing but a hinderence to everybody, even trying to sacrifice myself only made more trouble. I see that now.

"I'm sorry..." Captain Levi doesn't respond aside from a quiet 'tch'. I look back over his shoulder to see that the abnormal titan in the distance is dead. I heave a sigh of relief and lean into Levi's shoulder, closing my eyes. I should have just stayed in the HQ.

-Levi's POV-

What a fucking idiot. Did she think I'd be happy? Did she think herself to be a martyr? I'm just glad that her body seemed to disagree with her plan of dying in front of me. And now I have to carry her to safety even though she's absolutely covered in dirt and shit.
Her head leans into my shoulder as I run, the cadets have likely killed that titan by now and will catch up with me shortly, we need to make it to camp before anymore titans pop out of god-knows where.

She's not going to get away with this. Not on my watch.

-Your POV-

The smell of cooking meat rises me from my slumber, I'm not sure when I fell asleep and I honestly think something might be wrong with me considering how often this happens. A sizzling sound reaches me and my mouth salivates slightly. Rubbing my eyes and willing them to open, I sit up.

Looking around the interior of the tent I've found myself in, I spot that there is another sleeping bag besides mine, empty. The light from outside flickers and a shadow approaches the tent. I steel myself but it's unnecessary, as Levi pushes open the entrance and locks eyes with me, a plate in his hand.

"Oh good, you're alive." His voice sounds frustrated but I don't say anything in return as he places the plate down besides me, still sizzling meat placed nicely, with nondescript vegetables besides it. I look back up at him and he grimaces slightly.

"Take a bath, there is a stream nearby, I've left the necessary cleaning supplies next to you." I look to where he gestures and see a pack, suddenly my clothes feel very dirty.

"Eat first or bathe first. I don't care. Just take the sleeping bag with you and clean that too." He grunts, leaving me to sit alone in the tent.

"Well... I'm doing to eat first, I d-don't want it to get cold after all." Reaching down, I pick up the warm plate and take the nicely arranged utensils. It doesn't take long until I'm absolutely stuffing my face with the tastiest meal I've ever had. The rich meat goes down easily and even the vegetables taste nice.

I finish my plate and place it down, I should probably clean this too, but I find myself a tad preoccupied with the memory from earlier. His rough lips against mine, his minty breath, his arms as he held me... yeah, it's probably a good thing that the stream will be cold. I don't know how much longer I can wait until I kiss him again, and he would probably prefer it if I was clean.
