authors note: hey guys! Please note that this story wont be exactly the same as the original anime, some things will be different. For example, Levi isn't 34 in this version, by the time Eren joins the squad Levi is 30. We start with Levi being 26.
I'm writing this on a computer so I don't really know how it's going to look for you people who will read it on your phones, I'm also not the best writer in the world so please don't judge this book TOO harshly :/ Even though this is a Levi x Reader, I hope you don't mind if I add other bits of romance here and there for drama's sake. Also, my writing isn't that great but it gets better by chapter 7.
if you do mind and if you think there could be any improvements then please leave a comment. thanks for reading! <3

Your POV:
A hot day. I shade my eyes from the sun as I look around briefly before going back to taking a huge basket laden with bread to the Shiganshina District. As always, the crowd is thick and walking in this heat I had become slightly dozy. I walked past many people, and I only hear a few voices through all the lazy commotion, "Hear! the walls were created with gods wisdom! The walls are the work of...." but every voice fades away, leaving me to muse over my life.
Four years ago I had become a trainee and was lucky enough to be put into the 100th Training Corps. All my friends had told me that I was lucky, and that 100 was a special number and somehow I was blessed. But I don't buy it. I'm not blessed.
Once I had gone to the Training Corps I was immediately the outsider. everyone that had joined were all around the age of fourteen. I was sixteen, and sure, becoming a trainee that late had been appalling. I could have joined two years before that but instead my adopted-brother wouldn't let me, telling me that it was "a waste of time" and that "you won't be good enough anyway" until I finally stopped asking. Instead I ran away. And to be honest I still don't know what Corp I'm going to choose.
The other Trainee's leave me alone, and don't get me wrong here, I love being alone, but sometimes... sometimes I want to have somebody beside me. I'm not the strongest, but I'm the quickest on my feet out of everyone else so I have a good chance to be in the top ten.
The sound of a bell snaps me out of my thoughts and I quickly turn around. 'the Survey Corps...' I think to myself after hearing someone shout out in the distance. I had never seen them before, I wasn't ever usually in this district at the right time.
Knowing that the rest of my comrades in the Training Corps wanted me to do all of their work, such as cleaning and any other job they could muster up, I put down the basket of bread that I had been carrying and run off. 'They're going to kill me for this later' I think to myself, but quickly wipe the thought away. This might be my only chance to see the Survey Corps in real life and a small beating from the other Trainee's was worth it.
My eyes flick from side to side, picking up every small detail and I quickly figure out where everyone is running to. As I near my destination all I can hear is hooves on the stone road and grumblings from all around me. I get to the road and stop, looking around quickly I can easily see that this is not a celebration. 'why does everyone look upset?' I think to myself and push through the crowd.
And I see it. Blood, bodies, the look of defeat on every soldiers face. Riding at the front is commander Erwin. As I watch him he looks over to the other side of the road with a surprised expression and I follow his gaze. Two children, a boy and a girl, carrying sticks on their backs, looking above the crowd to catch a glimpse of their hero's.
But even as I watch them my gaze flickers back to Commander Erwin as he drops his eyes, looking away from the children. The boy stopped smiling and looked puzzled, watching the Commander ride by. Then the boy turns and looks at the rest of the soldiers and I watch sadly as his look of confusion change to one of horror.
People may be surprised, But I actually have known Erwin for a long time, and I've rarely seen him like this. 'I'm going to guess that his whiskey will be coming out tonight' I think sadly to myself as Erwin rides past.
The whispers in the crowd grow more audible as the soldiers ride past. "Why are there so few of them?" and "this is what you get for going outside the walls" , complaints, horror, sadness. Filling every voice of the citizens around me. Crying and yelling can be heard from farther down the parade of beaten soldiers but I barely notice it, the only thing my eyes look to is him.
He shows no look of pity or sadness in his face but instead keeps his eyes on the ground. He guides his horse without a slouch, the look on his face, cold. A weird feeling starts aching around me and I clutch my stomach, unable to stand I fall to my knees and never move my eyes away from his.
Silver, flashing towards my (e/c) eyes for the briefest of seconds and I almost faint, but just like that he's gone, his horse in the distance.'I will see him again' I promise to myself and slowly start my journey back to the Training Grounds, never taking my mind off the man who was cold.
