-Your POV-

Even with my eyes closed I know that I'm back in bed and no longer by that strange beach, I must've fallen asleep and that must've just been a very intricate dream.

'If it was a dream then how come you can remember every little detail from the crickets singing to the heat in your hair?' I mentally shrug at Achida's question and I am about to answer him when I finally hear someone's uneven breathing fill the silence around me.

I notice that my throat is dry and by body is so stiff that it feels almost as if I had been dead for the past five hours, my eyelids are caked together and I have to force them to open so that I can look at the person in this room.

Once I finally am able to see out of my eyes I turn my head softy towards the irregular breaths and I could swear that my heart stops beating when the Man sitting beside me, with his head in his hands, is none other then the Corporal Levi and my Mystery Man.

I open my mouth to ask him what's wrong but he beats me to it with a cracking voice, clearly stricken with pain.

"I suppose also being dead wouldn't be too bad, then we could at least fucking be together."

I involuntarily gasp when those vulgar words escape from his mouth but quickly put my hand to my mouth and look away from Levi's pitiful composure. A few seconds later I hear a small movement and turn my blurry eyes back towards the Captain.

Only to find that he is also looking back at me with the most tear-stained face and red eyes I have even seen a man show, let alone the stoic and non-emotional Levi.

"How?" Levi hesitatingly opens his lips and the only expression I can read on his face is pure agony, confusion, and shock that I'm staring at him.

Slamming on the door interrupts my thoughts and Levi's eyes flick towards it and in a flash, his slouch is gone, he has wiped away the tears, and his uncaring expression has returned once more to his pale face.

'He's trying to hide his obvious pain' Achida points out and I nod my head, noticing how drowsy I am and how soft the bed is.

'probably not very safe to fall asleep' Achida mentions quietly and again I nod my head, softly this time as the pounding of the door has started to fade away, only becoming a rhythm in the back of my head.

I don't try to force myself awake, instead I succumb to the peace of slumber.

After all, what could possibly go wrong?

-Levi's POV-

after some few minutes of banging on the door I am finally able to compose myself and walk to the door.

'(f/n)'s awake, she's awake, even though that shouldn't be soundly possible' My thoughts are running wild as I open the door, only to find an extremely excited Hanji standing on the other side with a nervous Petra behind her.

Both of their eyes look to me in surprise, neither of them were expecting me to open the door.

Petra is the first to get over the small moment of shock as she pushes past Hanji with a smile and boldly wraps her arms around me with a grin, as if she could cheer me up with physical touch.

A frown immediately appears on my face as I notice her hands have been covered in dirt and only partially washed off. I quickly push Petra away from me and look back up (lol, "up") at Hanji to avoid Petra's hurt gaze.

"What are you so excited about Four-Eyes? It's pissing me off" I add a little "tch" for emphasis and Hanji quickly shoves a little vial towards me filled with a silver liquid.

"It's to resurrect (f/n)!" Hanji yells at me and immediately I shake my head as a refusal.

"No need" As soon as I say this Petra's expression becomes more happy but in comparison Hanji's expression only becomes more stricken.

"Have you given up?" Both of them ask me this simple question at the same time but a very dramatic difference is clear in their voices; Hanji seems upset whereas Petra seems almost ecstatic that I'm no longer worried if (f/n) was alive or dead.

I sigh quietly to myself as I take note of her obvious jealousy, and it's a real shame too, I used to be attracted to her before I realized how many thorns littered her interior. now she's more of a sister, but I'll never be able to admit that to her.

"No, I won't give up on (f/n), especially since she's back alive" I move out of the way and gesture the two shocked girls inside and towards the bed.

"She doesn't look very alive" my blood freezes when Petra's voice pipes up, I follow her gaze until my eyes rest upon (f/n)'s, yet again, lifeless body.

"No, she's sleeping" Hanji says and immediately I know that she's right as I also notice (f/n)'s chest slowly rising and falling to a soundless rhythm.

I see movement out of the corner of my eye and turn to see Petra sulking away from the room, I don't attempt to stop her.

The only thing on my mind is that (f/n) is safe, and she will live.
