Tommy
A couple days ago"Come on!" Alexander grabbed my arm as he dragged me from the kitchen.
I tried to put my feet down but it was no use. Alexander looked upon at me with anger filled eyes and I didn't have the courage to say anything or do much to stop him.
Frances's eyebrows furrowed but she didn't do anything either. I think she knew that it would've been a worthless attempt...Wu seemed like a man who tended to do things himself...so if Alexander came, and I didn't go, it meant Wu would come next...and who knows what he would do...
I hung my head low as Alexander marched me up the stairs. He seemed more perturbed than usual.
"Ale-," I began to ask him a question.
He hissed and I took it as a harsh way to tell me to close my mouth.
Just like before he's like fly and angrily led me up into the main floor of the house. My nose twitched at the smell of perfume...I momentarily forgot the women who lived and most likely worked in the house.
Unlike the morning before, the women I passed while being marched to Wu were dressed up...kinda. They had fresh painted nails, fresh makeup, and fancy type clothes on. I will say, however, that their clothes left nothing to the imagination.
As I passed by, most stared daggers and turned up their noses.
I barely noticed Alexander stop and I ran into his back.
"Shǎ háizi! (Dumb kid!)" he spat.
He jerked around and grabbed me roughly. I yelped a bit as he yanked the sliding door open and shoved me inside. Again, I fell backward and landed hard on the wood floor.
"Damnit," I cursed.
"Haha," a deep voice chuckled behind me.
I gulped as I picked myself half up and turned my head.
Wu was splayed out like normal on the old sofa, he was smirking and chuckling. I felt my cheeks redden as I looked at him. He wore a navy shirt and black pants, his shirt was unbuttoned and showed his upper chest. His hair hung loose and he wore silver jewelry again. He pulled himself forward and leaned on his knees,
"So," he cleared his throat, "how is your work?"
I raised an eyebrow as I turned my body more to face him. "Uhmm...fine? It's like only been a day?" I stood a little.
"Well a day tells one how it will be forever doesn't it?" He smirked at me.
"Uhmmm...no?" I was intensely confused.
"How has it been with old Frances?" He stood up suddenly and I felt myself fall back onto my butt again.
"Fine?" I felt my voice crack as he walked over to me and I tried to back my body up.
"She's quite a gossip," he began, "I wonder what she's been telling you," he leaned down and grabbed onto my ankle, dragging me close to him.
"N-Nothing." I stuttered unconsciously as he looked over me.
I didn't want to tell him the truth of what Frances said...that he would lose interest in me and would let me go or whatever. She was quite a talker...I was not.
"Nothing, huh?" He leaned down close to my face.
I felt my breath grow raggedy and my heart begin to race.
I never could lie.
"Nǐ shìgè zāogāo de piànzi. (You're a bad liar.)" he looked at me with eyes darker than I ever thought could happen.
