Seulgi's POV
"Are you now ready for work?", my mom asked me as she went inside the room.
"Yup!", I said.
"As usual, you always do great at your work as a Pediatrician, but please.. when you need help or someone to talk to, I'm always here, and even your friends, darling!", she told me.
"Thanks mom!", I said with a small smile. After wearing my formal clothes for today, I immediately wore my doctor's white coat as I fixed myself infront of the mirror for the last time. Another work day today! Do greater, Kang Seulgi! I thought to myself as I grabbed my bag with me and went downstairs. The moment I came inside my mom's car, she immediately started driving so we could go to the hospital to work already.
"Mom, I heard that today's the first day of work of the son of the late Dr. Park Jeonghoon at the hospital.", I said.
"Yeah! I hope there won't be bad tension between the two of you.", she worriedly said.
"I know dad 'allegedly' killed his father but.. I'm not going to let him talk ill about dad!", I said.
"I'm aware that the death of his dad really affected him, and I'm kinda worried that he might lash out all of his anger to you, since he was the one who 'killed' his father.", she said.
"Wasn't dad proven innocent already? Why would they still continue to blame us for the death of their family member?", I said.
"Yes darling but sometimes.. people can be really naive when it comes to rumors and fake news articles.", she said.
"I'm nervous on meeting him!", I said.
"I understand, darling! I know it's your first time meeting him in person but.. please make sure he's at ease and make him feel at home on his first day of work in the hospital!", she told me.
"I will, mom! I'll also try my best to leave a good impression on him!", I said.
"And.. is it ok if you can give him a brief tour of the hospital later?", she asked me.
"Sure!", I said.•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Author's POV
The moment Seulgi and her mom entered the hospital, they immediately started proceeding to their work.
"Darling, I have a scheduled surgery to perform today. Please take care of yourself!", Seulgi's mom told her.
"Alright mom! Goodluck! And I hope it'll be successful!", Seulgi said.
"Thanks darling!" her mom said as she immediately walked away. The moment her mom walked away, she began to walk towards the hallway that leads to the clinics of the hospital. While walking, she heard a familiar voice that called her name.
"Dr. Kang!", a familiar voice said.
"Oh! Dr. Bae, hi!", Seulgi said as she hugged her friend, who works also as a Pediatrician.
"How are you doing, Seul?", Joohyun asked Seulgi.
"I'm doing great, unnie!", Seulgi said.
"I heard you're going to meet the son of your family's rival.", Joohyun said.
"Unnie, don't say that! It might be too offensive to them!", Seulgi said.
"Oops, my bad! By anyways.. you will meet him later, right?", she asked Seulgi.
"Yup! And it will happen in just a few minutes.", Seulgi said.
"Don't worry, I believe in you! If he hurts you or if he did something horrible to you, you better tell me immediately!", she said.
"I will! By the way.. do you have patients for today, unnie?", Seulgi asked.
"Well, my clinic hours are only at 9-11 a.m, and then after lunch, I'm now gonna do my rounds to visit and provide care in the Pediatric ward and in the ICU.", Joohyun said.
"Great! I guess we have the same schedule today!", Seulgi said.
"Dr. Kang?", a familiar voice said as Seulgi and Joohyun turned around to see the medical director.
"Good morning, Dr. Kim!", Joohyun said as she and Seulgi bowed.
"Dr. Kim, what brings you here?", Seulgi asked.
"The new doctor and the son of the late Dr. Park Jeonghoon is already here. He's in the reception area on stand by. Let me guide you to the reception area for you to meet him and give him a tour of the hospital before he can proceed to go to the Family Medicine department.", Dr. Kim said.
"Yes Dr. Kim!", Seulgi said.
"Good luck, Dr. Kang!", Joohyun told Seulgi.
"I'll see you later at lunch, Dr. Bae!", Seulgi said.
