Chapter 8

Seulgi's POV

"Seulgi.. wake up now! I ordered breakfast for you..", a familiar voice said as I woke up from my sleep as I realized that Jimin was seated on the edge of the bed.
"Did I oversleep? What time is it?", I asked him.
"Umm.. it's just 8:50 in the morning! Come down now, the food might get cold.", he told me.

It was a sunny Saturday today, so I'll just either use the whole day to rest or to go out and bond with my friends. The moment I arrived in the dining room, I immediately opened the food he ordered for me as I started taking a sip of the soup and a bite of a noodle. While eating, my phone suddenly started ringing, indicating that I'm receiving a call from someone right now. The moment I opened my phone, I realized that it was my mom calling, so I immediately answered the call.

"Mom?", I said.
"Hey darling, how are you doing? Are you at our house, resting right now?", she asked me.
"I'm doing fine! And.. I'm not at our house right now, mom..", I said nervously.
"What? Why? Where are you?", she asked me.
"I'm currently staying over at someone's house right now mom, 'cause something happened to me..", I said.
"Why? What happened?", she worriedly asked me.
"The same thing happened to me again, but this time, it's different! The guy had intended to do something immoral to me!", I said.
"What? How are you now? Are you ok?", she asked me.
"Don't worry mom! I'm fine, and I'm safe now!", I said.
"Where are you? To whom are you staying in right now?", she asked me.
"At Jimin's house..", I said.
"Is it ok for him that you'll stay there? He's mad at
you, and I'm not going to allow the fact that he'll lay a finger on you or use you as his personal punching bag just to vent his anger out because of what happened to his father!", she said.
"Don't worry, mom! He told me that he'll put aside our problems for a while, since we're temporarily living in one roof! And.. are you ok about this, mom?", I said.
"Yes, and I do trust you on this, Seulgi! If he hurts you, don't hesitate to leave! So.. when will you get back home?, she said.
"Umm.. if you're about to go home already, then I'll also leave!", I said.
"Alright! I need to go now! Take care of yourself always darling!", she said.
"I will! Mom, your medications!", I said.
"Don't worry! I'm taking them daily!", she said.
"Alright that's good!", I said.
"I'll go now! See you soon, darling! I love you!", she said.
"I love you too, mom!", I said as I ended the call.

The moment I ended our call, I immediately continued eating my breakfast, that I didn't realize that Jimin was standing on the corner, with his arm leaning and resting on the wall with his arms crossed.

"That was your mom?", he asked me as he approached me.
"Yeah! How long have you been listening to our conversation?", I asked him nervously.
"Umm.. I just arrived at the part on where she was doubting me because I might lay a finger on you! By the way.. I just stopped by to check on you. How are you doing?", he asked me with a hint of concern present in his voice.
"I'm fine! Sorry if my mom's being too overprotective and too doubtful because of you, and I'm sorry if she thought that you might lay a finger on me!", I said.
"It's ok! I understand why your mom's like that because she's just worried about your safety knowing that she won't be with you for a while!", he said.
"Jimin.. I don't get it! At first you hate me, and then a few seconds later, you act kind and soft-hearted to me all of a sudden.", I said.
"Like what I said, I do have deep resentments to you and to your family, but there was never a time where I wished you bad luck or get in danger, so let's just put our arguments aside for a while, because your safety is my priority now!", he told me.

When he told me that, I couldn't help but smile at his little act of kindness that I didn't even notice how my heart is beating so fast and the butterflies, fluttering in my stomach. I kinda don't trust him for now, because he's kind to me, but maybe later he'll hurt or bully me again in the next few minutes, hours or even days! I worriedly thought to myself. And yet, I like how I'm slowly starting to see the softer and kinder side of Jimin that's different from the cold and heartless Jimin that I know! I thought to myself as I couldn't help but just feel thankful for him.
