"There's no way I will leave you and Sarah alone here!" Nikki protests as he's in the living room, sitting on the couch with his nervous-looking wife, one hand on her tummy.
"We will all be fine," Jenice nods. "We'll have more security until... He gets caught. There is no need to mess up your schedule."
"Babe, look at me," Nikki gently puts his hand behind the back of Jenice's neck, looking into her eyes. "If that bastard has evil plans, he will pay. I will try my best not to let him touch you. I will not rest until he is caught and taken to prison. The place where he belongs. I don't want to..." He sighs, looking down at her tummy, touching it lightly and his voice changes, "I don't want to hear that you all are in danger. I would like you and Sarah to come on tour with me."
"You know it's not possible. Especially in the state I'm in," she points at her big tummy. "I will need to go to many check-ups and I have a predisposition to premature birth."
"I know honey," he has a weary look on his face. "Maybe it would be better for you not to go to work. You know... As a precaution. I'm afraid Paul will find you there. You and Sarah don't have to leave the house until he's caught! I won't be able to have peace until then!"
"Me neither, babe," sighs Jenice. "I still wanted to go to work... But it's for our safety..."
"I know how much you want this. But we don't know what Paul could do. It is better to be cautious."
"Everything will be fine," the brunette smiles faintly at her husband. "You can go on tour to finish it. We will be fine here. Me, Sarah and these two little bundles of joys," she giggles with her gaze and hand on her belly.
Nikki smiles and leans down to plant a kiss on her tummy, she smiling intensely, running a hand through his dark coarse hair. He gently rests his head on her tummy, the twins kicking hard, their father instantly smiling.
"They are telling you that we will all be fine, smiles Jenice. You will see..."
The next day...
Nikki packs his things and puts them in the car. He walks across the yard with his wife and daughter.
Jenice smiles gently at him, and he takes her in his arms, kissing her on the lips.
"Take care of yourselves," he says to his wife, as he cups her face.
"We will have, babe. We will have."
His eyes wander a bit to her tummy, he lays a hand and feels the twins kicking.
"Please take care of these little devils," smiles Nikki, looking down at the tummy.
"For sure I will," smiles Jenice, feeling that soon she will tear up.
He gives her a brief kiss, hugging her tightly. Now he is now looking down at Sarah who is holding one of her favorite stuffed toys.
"I'll take care of mommy, daddy," the little girl smiles genuinely. "Don't worry."
Nikki snorts, kneeling down and running a hand through the little girl's wavy hair.
"And someone has to take care of you, princess."
"This will be me," Jenice puts her hands protectively over her daughter's shoulders.
"We will take care of each other, daddy," smiles the little girl. "There's no reason to get worried. We will be fine."
Nikki smiles and kisses her forehead and stands up, looking at his wife once more, giving each of them a smile.
Jenice follows him, rather shaken as he gets into the car. She pulls Sarah closer to her, feeling like she's losing her mind, her sanity. Tears almost fall on her face as the car leaves the yard, the gravel crunching under the wheels.
