27. Gladiator

We all get off the boat and it turns out there is gladiator events going on. So most everyone goes to the coliseum. So it's just me, Tye, Thora, Tre, and Kane. Mary didn't even get off the boat. Tre and Kane both have the money and we have our list. About 12 servants follow us.

I look at Thora. "Human dress was not right here."

She nods. "What are they wearing?"

I drag her into a clothes shop. "They are long tunics. With cloaks wrapped around them."

She looks around. "I like our clothes better."

I nod.

Kane walks up to us. "You'll be fine dressed like this. You don't have to change."

We both say "Oh good." at the same time.

Then we keep shopping. I get out my list and show it to the boys. They all ask me what a toothbrush is.

"Apparently humans have to clean their teeth."

Kane looks at me. "Maybe the barber would know where they are. He's the one who pulls their teeth out."

Me and Thora both shiver and nod.

We all walk up to the barber. He's standing by his shop right on the path.

"Pardon me sir. I was sent to shop for these items. Someone suggest you may know where they are." I show him my list.

"I have the tooth items here. How many brushes do you need?"

"How many times do you brush your teeth a day?"

"3 times a day."

I look at Tre. "7 months. 3 times a day. That's 630?"

He nods. "We'll take 650 toothbrushes and toothpaste. Do we need anything other than toothbrushes and paste for teeth?"

"Picks and rinse."

"650 each of those too."

He nods. "Ok. Do you want deodorant too? I see all human items."

"What's that?"

"Human's put it on their armpits so they don't stink." I nod at him. "Usually just 1 time a day for that."

"210."

He nods. "You have combs?" I nod. "Sun stuff?"

"To block the sun. Red skin."

"Oh. Yes I have that too. It's big bottles though. Maybe 1 bottle for a week or 2 would work."

I work it out in my head. 4 bottles a month 7 months. "28."

He nods. "Then I have some special made for the face. Do you want 28 of those too?"

"Yes please."

"Ok I can not help with the sun glasses. Just give me a few minutes and I will get this stuff out to you."

"Thank you sir."

After a minute people with those things around their necks come and give the stuff to our servants and Tre gives the man almost 4k. Then Tye leaves to walk the servants back to the boat. Tre takes one of the little bottles of sun stuff to Johen because I throw a fit. So Kane is left with me and Thora to find sunglasses. Tre leaves the money with him in case it takes him to long to get back.

"We need to look for hats too."

She nods at me. "I don't know though. They don't seem to wear hats here. We may have to look somewhere else."

I look over and see a lady with sunglasses on. I run over to her. "I love your glasses ma'am. Where did you get them?"

She looks at me and rolls her eyes. "Not like you could afford them. GO. Get me away from the scum."
