Chapter nine : Addictions and what not.

✨ Jadesola Wole ✨

Love is a good and a bad thing. Toxic love is like an addiction. Intoxicating and distracting.

But this is not love.
I know it. He knows it.

This is what I call a distraction.

With all the drama happening in my life, you'd think I'll run away from drama, like my life depended on it, but you're wrong. Very wrong.

My Step mom is an angel, just like my step sister, and the beating my step mom gets is not because she deserves it, but because of my father's addiction.

My father is addicted to alcohol. I'm addicted to sensual touch.
At least that's something we have in common.

"Jadé," Destiny called me.
"Are you done with your project?"

What project?

"Project? What project?"
I asked her in confusion.

Josey chuckled beside me.

It was fifth period already, but the chemistry teacher was not in the class.

Not that I care.

"Just because you and CK are now becoming all loved up, the all serious Jadesola Wole is forgetting to do assignments? Thor." Josey commented and shook her head, focusing on the physics she was solving.

Destiny, who was reading a novel, dropped her book on the table, and looked at me with keen interest, adjusting her black and transparent glasses on her nose.

That was a bad sign.

"Jadé," she called firmly.
"Are you and CK dating?"

Where is this chemistry teacher abeg?

"CK is not boyfriend material, you know that," i said, looking away from my friend's gaze.

"Jadésola," she called, voice even more firm than before.
"That doesn't answer my question."

"He is not my boyfriend."
I told them begrudgingly.

"Then why are you two messing around?" Josey asked in anger.

"Lower your voice, Josephine." Destiny scolded in a whisper.

"No oh! Don't tell me to reduce my voice. Why is she reducing herself to nothing?
Or do you not know how beautiful and worth it you are? Do I need to remind you how no boy deserves your time and attention?"
Josey asked.

I said nothing. I am stubborn and i know that. I wouldn't crack or give them any explanation.

As if they'll understand.

"You better end this nonsense soon. Or else I'm telling Harmonie and Rodney," Josey said, causing my head to snap to her in shock.
"Ehn, that's the one you don't like now." she said with a hiss.

"The both of you don't understand what is going on." I finally said in a dry tone.

Josey laughed, then turned to me. "We don't? Then explain to us, Jadesola. Tell us the reason for your stupid character."

Even though her words hurt me, I just stared at her blankly.

"You're not talking, Jadesola." Destiny remarked.

"Yes." I said blankly. "That's because I'm not waisting my time to explain to the both of you. You simply will not understand."

Josey sighed, clenched her fists together and looked up.

"What–" Josey started, but Destiny cut her short mid sentence.

"It's okay, Jadé." She said, smiling at me a little. "When ever you're ready, you can tell us then."

"I will burst CK's brain. Let me see him touch you give more times. Or let me catch him looking in your direction.
Fool." Josey muttered bitterly.

The chemistry teacher finally walked in and I just had to shake my head at him.

Perfect timing!

"Rubbish," I muttered under my breath.
