Chapter 3

One year old Mei wondered down the hall to her father's' room. 'Today is the day! Today I'm gonna talk to papa!' she told herself. She politely knocked on her father's door.

"Hey baby girl! How are you today?" Kisame asked, opening the door and picking up his beloved tangerine headed daughter. Mei looked up at him, happiness and excitement shinning in her electrifying blue orbs.

Mei patted her fathers chest and exclaimed "Papa!" Causing Kisame to beam at her. "Hai! That's it! I'm Papa!" He said, proudness radiating off of him. "Papa is fwish!" Mei giggled. Kisame's smile dropped, as a frown took over and he shook his head. "No papa just looks like a fish" he sighed, he was going to have a word with Hidan.

"Papa onwe wooks wike fwish?" Mei asked. "Yeah Papa only looks like a fish" Kisame sighed. "Papa pwease put Mei down? Mei wanna got tawk to Hidan-nii!" Mei asked looking up at her father. "Ok... You tell Hidan that I'm going to have a word with him too" Kisame said putting the tangerine head on the floor. "Ok! Mei go now! Bye papa!" Mei cried hurriedly walking out of her father's room.

"Hidan-nii! Hidan-nii! Papa wants to tawk to woo!" Mei cried running up to the sliver headed man, who was laying on the couch. "Huh? You talking now?" Hidan asked, siting up and looking down at the cute girl. "yeah! Mei decided dat Mei is gonna start tawking now! Mei has been abwue to tawk for a whiwe now! But Mei de-sid-ed dat today is da day!" Mei exclaimed.

"So Kisame wants to talk? What about?" Hidan asked. "Woo towd Mei about Papa being a fwish! But papa onwe wooks wike a fwish! And now papa wants to tawk to woo!" Mei said happily. Hidan sweat dropped,

well he's fucked.

"Ok. I better get this over with sooner, rather than later" he muttered standing up, patting the child's head and walking down to the rooms. Mei watched him go, smiling happily as the sliver headed man knocked on her fathers door before entering the room.

She started walking down to the basement, where she knew her pale Orochi-nii lived. She walked past large clear bottles of different coloured liquids, with lots of different objects in them; things like body parts and bloody, rusted weapons.

"Orochi-nii! Guess what? Mei is tawking now!" Mei cried throwing herself into the snake sannin's pale arms. "That'ss good Mei-Chan.... Have you talked to Kissame yet?" Orochimaru asked. "Uh-huh! Mei tawked to Papa fwirst!" Mei cried smiling up at her Nii-San.

"Orochimaru-Sama.... I have some reports for you" a young sliver haired boy said. "Thank you Kabuto. Could you pleasse take Mei up to the main level. Kissame will be worried by now" Orochimaru commanded. "Yes sir" Kabuto replied bowing to his master and holding out his hand to Mei.

"Come with me please Mei-San" he said. "Can I caw you Kabuto-nii? Pwease?" Mei asked, her eyes mimicking that of a puppy. "If only I can call you Imōto" Kabuto bargained. "Ok!" Mei cried hugging the sliver hair boy. Kabuto stilled for a second before hugging back and leading the tangerine-head back to the ground floor.

"Will someone just tell me where my baby girl went!?!?!" Kisame asked, anger dripping from every syllable. Mei had gone out shopping with Kakuzu, Sasori and Hidan and now was nowhere to be found. Hidan was cowering in fear, while the other two reminded in-different, on the outside, on the inside they were both pissing themselves and 100% worried on where the little Tangerine had gone. No one wanted to deal with an angry Kisame, especially when it revolved around Mei.  

"Not a word? Fine I'll beat you till you remember" Kisame said smirking evilly. "NONONONONONONONO!!!!!!! FOR THE LOVE OF JASHINE DON'T COME NEAR ME!!!!!" Hidan screamed before Kisame's death glare settled on the silver head. "That settles it. You'll be first" Kisame smirked, his fatherly instinct taking over his already insane mind.

While all this was happening, Mei was sitting on Zetsu's White shoulder, nursing a scraped knee and eating an Ice-cream cone. "So why'd you run off Mei-Chan?" They asked. "Because I saw a pwetty Butterfwy and I fowowed! It was bwack, White and gween! Wike woo Zetsu-nii!" Mei giggled. "But you scraped your knee. Kisame is going to fucking kill us! Black Zetsu! Don't swear in front of Mei-chan!" They argued.

"It's ok. I won't tew Papa. And fank woo for finding me" Mei said yawning afterwards. Zetsu gently pulled the near-asleep child off of his shoulder and held her bridal-style in his arms. "It's fine Sugar" they said starting to walk back to the Akatsuki base.

They remembered the first time Mei came up to them; it was right after the Kakuzu incident and they were eating their dinner when it happened.

Zetsu was sitting at the dinner table eating his rotting meat, it was aged and covered in a disgusting layer of grime and filth, just the way he liked it. Mei crawled over to the black and white plant. "What do you want? We're trying to eat! Black Zetsu! She's a baby! She's just curious! Well I wish she would be curious elsewhere.... I don't feel comfortable with amid watching us eat. B-Black Zetsu? You do care!" They said, making Mei burst into bell-like laughter.

She very much liked the strange man.

They looked down at the giggling infant. Puzzled by the ball of sugar. "Can we face we her the other way? Please? Yes, only cause you asked so nicely, and I also don't like eating in front of her" they agreed picking up the giggling infant and facing her to the wall. Mei giggled and shifted around to face the plant-man.

"Oh really? Face the other way dammit!" They demanded facing her the other way again. Mei just turned again to face them, laughing louder then before. This happened several times before Zetsu gave up and sat next to her, both facing the wall, both staring at the wall. They then stared a game of eye-tag, Zetsu would look at Mei just as Mei turned to face the wall and vise-versa.

Eventually Mei caught Zetsu and they stared at each other. "There you are Mei!" Kisame cried after half an hour of just plain staring. "Thanks for entertaining her for a while Zetsu, but she needs to go to bed" Kisame said beaming at the plant-man.

"Did we just have fun? With an infant no less" they said before standing up and eating their meal.

Zetsu smiled remembering the memory. 'It was a good one' they decided handing a very relived Kisame a sleeping Mei. Zetsu looks around to see an near-dead Hidan and a severely shaken Sasori and Kakuzu. "Shouldn't of lost her dumbasses" they said sinking into the ground.

A very good memory. One defiantly worth keeping.
