A Little More Than This (Discontinued)

Chapter 8

Deidara walked through the Akatsuki base. His lone grey-blue eye wondering around the walls. He came across a door covered in bright colours and little sketches of Dragons and Frogs.

Deidara looked puzzled, 'is there a child here? There couldn't be! This is an S-Class criminal organisation!'.

"Huh! Are you Deidara? The newbie?" Konan asked. "Yeah un. Whose room is that yeah?" Deidara asked. "Hm? Oh it's Just Mei's room, you can go in if you want" Konan replied. Deidara nodded and walked over to the door. He looked back at Konan, to find she had disappeared. He shrugged and knocked on the door.

A little 6-year-old Orange haired girl opened the door, she had large sky blue eyes and a small petite figure. She looked up at the man and smiled widely, opening the door for him to come in.

Deidara was completely shocked a young girl was inviting him into her room like he was just another child, she smiled at him like he was her brother, or father. He was a S-Class Criminal for fuck's sake!

"Hey! Miss! Miss!" The girl cried. His eye twitched. "I am not a female, I am Deidara, a boy!!" He hissed, trying to keep his cool. 'Whose ever daughter this girl is I don't wanna piss him off.'

"Oh? Deidara? That a nice name Mister. My name is Mei!" Mei replied happily. "Anyway~ can I braid you hair later? Just once? Please?" Mei asked, her eyes widening and sparkling. Deidara looked down at her, trying not to look in her eyes. He failed, miserably, and nodded in agreement.

"YAY!!! Hey! Hey! Deidara-Nii, you're gonna be my newest Nii-San!!" Mei cried hugging the blond. Deidara stilled at the contact, the girl reminded him of his past. "Huh? What's the matter Dei-Nii?" Mei asked. "You remind me of someone close to me. She was very happy and energetic too, even called me 'Deidei-Nii' all the time" he said, a fake-happy smile dawning on his face.

"Hufh! You don't need to fake a smile around me! Deidei-Nii, should be happy for real! I know! Let's colour for a while! That always makes me happy!!" Mei cried pulling out a wad of unmarked paper and coloured inks.

Deidara beamed at her. "So you like to draw?" He asked. "Yes and no, I like to draw sometimes but other times I just like to make awesome firework-like patterns!!!" Mei cried beaming back. Deidara's smiled got wider and he cried "Art is a bang Yeah!" Throwing his hands in the air excitedly. "Yeah! Art is a bang!!" Mei copied, beaming at him.

They spent hours drawing and colouring, Mei even drew a detailed picture of Deidara drawing something else. There was much laughter coming from the room and Deidara eventually got out some clay, which they moulded and squished into weird and random shapes and figures.

Eventually Mei got tired, and started falling asleep.

"Huh? Hey Mei, you ready for bed?" Deidara asked, catching her as she fell. "No, I gotta brush my teeth and get changed first Deidei-Nii" Mei yawned. Deidara smiled and picked her up, taking her to the bathroom and helping her bathe and brush her teeth. He also dried and dressed her afterwards. He carried her back to her room and tucked her into her bed before gently closing the door.

"Well, well, well..... Looks like Deidara had fallen under her spell as well" Hidan mused as said blond arrived at the dinning table. "Thank you for looking after Mei and keeping her busy, we had a bit of a rough time today, dealing with some traitors" Kisame said, smiling happily.

"Whatever" Deidara replied, grabbing a beer and downing it. "Aw~ is Deidei-Nii all tuckered out? Does Deidei-Nii wanna go lie down?" Hidan mocked, whining like a child.

Deidara glared at the sliver haired nin, muttering inaudible death-threats and insults at him. Hidan only laughed and walked him on the back in a 'friendly' manor.

"I'm just playing kid! Lighten up! Mei had that affect on most of us right away, only a few where stubborn enough to try and fight it" Hidan said, beaming stupidly. "Eh! Kisame!!! Bring out your Sake!!! Let's drink to the Tranny's arrival!!" Hidan cried as Kisame smirked, "yeah sure".

Mei rubbed her eyes tiredly as she walked out of her room. She stumbled over something and saw it was a Sake bottle. Rolling her tired eyes she kept walking until she found the group of 8 men and 1 woman passed out on the floor.

She smirked evilly and quietly shook awake Kakuzu, a glass of water and a ninja pill in her arms for him to drink.

"Ok, I'm awake, what do you want?" The Stiched Man asked. "Help me wake them up! Please?" Mei begged. Kakuzu grinned and nodded, picking her up and walking into the kitchen.

"You get the pots and I'll get the lids" Mei whispered picking up to sliver lids and smiling. Kakuzu nodded and grabbed a saucepan and a pot before creeping out into the living room.

1....."

BAM!!!
CLASH!!!

"AHHHHHHHHH!!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!?!?!?!" Hidan screamed, jumping up as Kakuzu and Mei laughed loudly. The rest of the members had also jumped awake but where too surprised to say anything and had resorted to covering their ears.

Kisame glared playfully at his daughter who smiled and blushed. He tousled her hair and took the lids off of her.

"What do you want for breakfast Baby Girl?" He asked. "PANCAKES!!!" Mei cried running after him.

Deidara, who had suffered most of the damage, seeing as he was closer to the two, watched them in awe. "Wait! Mei is Kisame's daughter? But they don't look anything alike!!! The kid's not even Blue" Deidara yelled after them. "Duh silly! I take after my Mama! But I gots papa's blue eyes see? See?" Mei asked, opening her eyes really wide and walking close to Deidara.

"Yeah I see Mei. Yo Kisame! Can I also get an order of Pancakes? I'm starving!" Deidara asked, standing up and following Mei into the kitchen.

'Maybe this time you'll stick around? Huh Kyoshi?'
