A Little More Than This (Discontinued)

Chapter 6

Hidan sat on the couch, with a four-year-old Mei sitting on the floor, reading through a book. Hidan was close to falling asleep and Mei was watching him through interested eyes.

"Hidan-Nii why are you here? What do you have to gain?" Mei asked, closing her book with a snap. "Huh?" Hidan asked snapping back to reality. "Why are you here?" She asked again, looking up with large curios eyes, "what do you have to gain?".

"Th-that's a big question" Hidan said, his eyes widening slightly. "So? I wanna know!" Mei said dropping her book and walking over to the sliver haired nin.

"Well it starts a very long time ago" he said eyes downcast as he remembered his past. "We have three days before Papa comes home Hidan-Nii.... I think we'll be fine" she replied with a pointed stare, wanting to hear the story.

"Well a long time ago I lived in a small ninja town and my parents where..... Cruel" he said. "Like they didn't give you hugs and kisses?" Mei asked climbing onto the couch and sitting next to him. "Yeah, and they would hurt me, very badly" he continued, trying to be as gentle as possible.

"Would they beat and rape you?" Mei asked. Hidan stared at her, 'she shouldn't know what either of those are!'. But before he could stop he was nodding. Tears, the traitors, blurred his vision.

Mei gasped, jumping up and wrapping her small as around the elder man's neck. "No-one deserves to be treated like that!" Said, her voice wavering slightly. Hidan say there for a minute, trying to silently fight his emotions, but fell into tears, hugging and crying into the girls shoulder.

"Is that why you left? Because of them?" Mei asked. "N-no. I l-left be-cause the I-idiots of th-that village de-decided to turn it into a goddamned hot spring place! Hot Springs for fucks sake!!!!" Hidan said angrily. "But you're gonna stay here right? Here with Pein-Sama and Papa and me?" Mei asked.

Hidan stilled, he didn't really need to think about that, but he found himself thinking a little about the question before finally answering: "For as long as you want me to stay". "Really? Well Forever and ever and ever!" Mei cried beaming at the sliver haired nin and kissing his cheek. Hidan's cheeks burnt red and Mei jumped down, picking up her book and running off.

The rest of the the three days was spent in near silence, with lots of cuddles, book-reading and a few tears, here and there.

Five-year-old Mei rundown the halls, bumping into a young boy, maybe 13-years-old. He had onyx eyes and charcoal black hair, which was tied back with a red ribbon.

"Hello! Who are you?" Mei asked. "Itachi, Itachi Uchiha" the boy replied. Mei looked up at his powerful pose, and smiled, standing on her tippy toes to poke his nose.

"Someone as young as you, having laugh lines? You must love to laugh!" Mei giggled, a happy glow shining through her large blue eyes. "No really, I've always had them" Itachi said, a small red blush sprawled across his cheeks and a small red patch on his nose.

"Hey Itachi-nii, your name means weasel!" Mei said happily as Itachi rubbed his nose. Itachi crossed him arms and made a noise of slight annoyance. "I know that, it's my name after all" he replied, sulking just a little.

"Hey, baby girl! Oh! You've already met Itachi! He's my new partner" Kisame said patting the tangerine's head. Mei beamed at Itachi, who had composed himself again, before she bowed and ran off.

"You'll get used to her squirt" Kisame said, smiling down at the Uchiha, who watched as the little girl hugged Orochimaru, his eyes clouded over in thought.

Itachi walked over to the couch and pulled out a book and his reading glasses. The words of the book not doing anything, as he thought about the strange girl.

Itachi jerked awake, something had shaken him awake.

"Itachi-Nii, who's Sasuke?" A voice asked. He looked down to see Mei, in green footie pj's, a dash of worry imbedded deep in her beautiful eyes. "Sasuke is my brother, he's around your age" Itachi replied, not bothering to lie to her. "Is he ok?" Mei asked, a dash of curiosity flashing through her eyes.

"Probably not, he's mostly like very angry with me" he said, sadness carving itself into his onyx eyes. "Why? Did you hurt him?" Mei asked, crawling into the couch and sitting next to the young teen. "Yes, very badly. I killed our entire clan" Itachi said waiting for the girl to gasp and run away.

To his surprise the girl wrapped her small arms around his neck and hugged him. "You don't need to cry Itachi-Nii, you did it for a reason right?" Mei asked him, as Itachi's eyes widened. "Y-yes, I was commanded to. I couldn't disobey my leader, so afterwards I went rouge" he stuttered, his words coming uneven and childish. "And I'm not crying" he added, sending the little girl a weird look.

Mei pulls away and wiped away her elders tears and said, "1, yes you are. 2, you didn't kill your entire clan because you're still here and your brother is too, plus if you where really horrible you would've hurt me by now" she said smiling brightly at the boy. Itachi nodded meekly, before standing up and picking up the girl.

"I believe that you have well gone past your bed time" Itachi said taking the young girl into her room and tucking her in. "Hey 'Tachi-Nii, promise me that you'll stay here for as long as you can?" Mei asked. "Until you no-longer need me" he replied, poking her head.

'You can be my new Sasuke, just for a little while'.

Ok hello! I tried to make this sad as possible, there had just been too much sugar in the last ones!!! Anyway, just hoping you like this, it would be appreciated for you guys to comment/vote for this as well, oh and hopefully I'll be updating more often since it's school holidays.

Oh and right now I'm working on a new fanfiction, for One Piece, I'll let you all know when it's out.
