Zetsu sighed lightly as he made his way through the dense forest around him. He had preferred walking over traveling underground ever since Mei had passed away. His ears pricked slightly as a painful groan come a few meters away from his spot.
'Hmmm~ food!! Well should we Black Zetsu?'
'Why not? I'm hungry'They walked carefully through the low foliage and came across to ninja clad in black with gas masks on. They had the appearance of rouge nin, with sliver headbands sliced directly across the middle.
But what made Zetsu stop in his tracks was a familiar chakra signature hanging in the air, but still relatively fresh. They narrowed their eyes and walked over to the two nin, passing a small splash of poisoned blood.
"Who tied you up? I will only ask nicely once" they demanded. "Fuck you" the only conscious ninja replied. Zetsu sighed, picking up his hand and chomping down on it harshly, ripping off most the skin and causing the ninja to scream loudly. "Now who tied you up? Last chance asshat" they demanded again.
"K-Konoha nin! Four kids, 12, one adult! And our target! A bridge-builder!" The nin whimpered. "Description of the children. Right fucking now bastard" they demanded. "Two boys, two girls!" The nin whimpered. "What did the girls look like? Hurry bastard I'm losing my patience" they replied, a hurried tone taking over their slower one.
"One had bright pink hair and emerald eyes! She didn't do anything but stand around!" The nin said, calming down slightly. "The other one! What did she look like asshole!!" Black Zetsu hissed, growing even more impatient. "O-orange hair and big blue eyes!! She had several scrolls with her and was good at Tijutsu!" The nin whimpered.
'Orange hair? Big Blue eyes? Black Zetsu could it be?'
'Don't get your hopes up White Zetsu it might not be her'They stood without another word and walked briskly back to the forest, following the Chakra signature intently.

Mei stilled as Naruto, who had been acting like an idiot, threw a kunai at a near-by bush. Naruto went to retrieve the kunai and came back with a white rabbit, crying up a storm and hugging the life out of the poor creature.
"Naruto what did you do?!?!" Sakura asked, anger flaring in her eyes. "I'm sorry Mr. Rabbit! I didn't mean it!!" Naruto whined, hugging still hugging the creature.
"That's a snow rabbit...... But why is it's fur white Tou-San?" Mei asked the elder nin. "That's a good question. Be on the look out" Kakashi whispered back. Mei nodded and gasped lightly as she was forced to the ground by Sasuke.
"DUCK!!"
A giant sword came spinning around from nowhere. It imbedded itself into a large tree and a nin appeared on the handle. Mei gulped nervously as the nin faced the small group. Zabuza Momochi stared down at her.
'And all I want is to go running up to him'
Mei's eyes widened slightly as his hard gaze bore into her pleading one. In a swift head nod, Mei knew he wasn't going to say anything. She sighed in relief and Sasuke looked at her weirdly, following her gaze to the nin in front of her and narrowing his eyes.
"Well, well, well...... Kakashi Hatake of the Sharingan eye. This must be my lucky day" Zabuza muttered, shifting his gaze from the girl and to the tallest person of the group.
"I wish I could say the same, Zabuza Momochi" Kakashi replied angrily. Zabuza chuckled darkly before jumping down from the tree, bringing down his sword with him.
"Battle stance 12! Protect the Bridge Builder!" Kakashi ordered, "prove to me you indeed work as one!". The four ran to cover the man and Mei stood behind, out of the view of Kakashi.
Mei scanned her surroundings and saw a young face she recognised gesturing for her to come over. Mei quickly preformed a shadow clone Jutsu and ran over to the person, jumping into his arms.
"Haku! I missed you so much!" Mei whispered, hugging the brown-haired boy, who smiled meekly and hugged back. "I missed you too..... Why are you with Konoha Nin? Did they kidnap you? Did they force you to join them?" Haku asked, a worried expression dawning on his face.
"No Kakashi rescued me from a collapsing building which killed my real family" Mei mumbled at the ground. "I'd love to talk more but I gotta go back! Kakashi might be suspicious by now" Mei cried running back to the battle field.
Haku watched in awe, his brain processing the new information.
"But you're the one who's supposed to be dead"

Zetsu walked through the forest, stopping short when he heard the sounds of battle. He crawled over to the forest line and his golden orbs widened. There, pulling an injured silver-haired nin out of the water, was Mei. Alive, well and a young woman.
"B-Black Zetsu! It's really her!!!" White Zetsu whispered excitedly. "I know it Dipshit! Should we go and tell the others? No..... They think we're lying...... We'll keep it to ourselves for now" they reasoned with themselves.
They watched silently as the battle unraveled before them, with three of the four children working together to save their Sensei.
Mei, they noticed, seemed to be holding back her skills, using only basic Ninjutsu and Tijutsu. "What are you hiding from them?" Black Zetsu asked absentmindedly.
They watched as the tangerinehead kicked and punched and dodged her way through the ex-mist nin's attacks. They were mildly impressed by the girl's execution of her own singular skills. They sighed in content as happy memories flooded into their head.
Then suddenly she went flying, crashing through the trees and falling limply at their feet. There was a shout for her but the owner of the voice was soon too busy to come after her.
Zetsu bent down, worry filling their golden eyes, and inspected her body for fractures and broken bones. They let out a sigh of relief as she stirred and tried to leave.
"Z-Zetsu-Nii?"
