A Little More Than This (Discontinued)

Chapter 20

Mei finished her outfit ((picture above!)) by tying a sky-blue ribbon around her waist. She ran her hand through her bright orange hair and walked out of the bathroom, hugging a sleeping Kakashi once she got to the living room.

"Tou-San... you need to wake up otherwise you'll be late" Mei whined, tousling his hair. "I dun't wanna~ I wanna stay here and eat ramen- NOOOOOO~~~ HELP MEH I'M TURNING INTO NARUTO~~~" Kakashi screamed the last part after realising his choice of food. Mei giggled lightly before pecking his forehead and skipping out of the room.

She grabbed an apple as she passed through the kitchen and called out a farewell before sprinting from the house, trying to get to the meeting place for the first third of the Chūnin Exams.

She reached the building within half an hour and met up with Junsuke and Dorai. The three all held their heads up proudly as they walked into the building together. All three proudly displaying their mismatched headbands to the rest of the Genin's trying to become Chūnin's.

They climbed up to the second floor and saw a large bunch of Genin's milling around a door with a sign claiming the floor they were on the third floor. The trio all shook their heads and continued to move but Mei stopped short when she heard familiar voices.

"Neji!!" Mei cried hugging him from behind. "Hello Mei" the elder boy replied, not taking his eyes off of Tenten and the kid that looked way too much like Kotetsu Hagane. Junsuke and Dorai watched the argument also, trying to figure out why the two were arguing.

The argument ended with the Kotetsu look-a-like punching Tenten to the ground. Mei growled lightly at the boy but was cut off by her Genin team. Naruto and Sakura came around the corner hissing at the boy and Sasuke calmly and coolly told the ass's that they weren't fooling anyone. (Translation: 'You guys are assholes').

Mei was about to reveal herself but was cut off by Lee asking Sakura to be his girlfriend. She giggled lightly at Sakura's turn down and watch patiently as Sasuke and the other boy, a Izumo Kamizuki look-a-like, started a small battle. Their Simultaneous kicks were blocked by the same spandex-clad ninja.

"Lee! I thought it was your idea to not reveal ourselves!" Neji growled. "I am Sorry, but all fighting must be official and in a match. We would not want anyone to be kicked out" Lee responded.

Mei was still happily hiding from her original team from behind Neji when he walked, with her still hugging him, up to Sasuke. "You! The one with the attitude! What's your name?" Neji demanded, making Mei, deadpan and step out from behind him to scold him.

"Neji! You should introduce yourself before demanding a name!" Mei scolded Neji, earning a strange look from Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke and earning laughs from Lee, Tenten, Junsuke and Dorai. Neji looked at her with cold eyes before turning back to Sasuke. Mei rolled her eyes and skipped over to Lee, giving him and Tenten a quick hug and exchanging a small 'How are you?' And a 'fine thank you' in return of the question.

She waved goodbye to her original team and ran over to her new one, dragging them up the stairs and to the proper room. They stopped short when a tall dark haired male stood in front of the door. He had his longish black hair tied back in a pony tail, tanned and freckled skin and dark green eyes.

"Hello Junsuke! And hello Mei and Dorai!" He cried happily, he also seemed to be full of energy. "Yo Gennei-Sensei" Junsuke replied, smiling brightly. "I'm glad you've all decided to show up! And I wish the three of you all the luck in the world!! Prove that you are all worthy! And make your Sensei's proud!!" Gennei cried, opening the door for them to go through.

Almost instantly Junsuke and Dorai found friends and left Mei to socialise with them. While, on the other hand, Mei was tackled into a hug by Chōji.

"Yo... haven't seen you in a while. What you been up to?" Mei asked, after she got over the shock of the surprise hug. "Eatin' and stuff" Chōji replied, letting her go.

"So nothing out of the ordinary~" Mei giggled before turning to Shikamaru and Ino. "Yo~ how's the flower shop going Ino?" She asked the blonde girl as the door behind her opened.

"Nice to see you again" Sasuke's voice sounded, making Mei sheepishly turn around. "Yo~ sorry I didn't stick around" Mei replied, rubbing the back of her head.

"H-Hello M-Mei-Chan" a quiet voice whispered from behind. Mei whipped around and pulled the quiet Hyūga into a hug. "It's great to see you Hinata!" Mei cried, waving slightly to the two males behind her.

Kabuto spotted his target from across the room. He slowly began to make his way across the room but stopped a few meters from the small group of 13 and stared at the small girl socialising with a boy with a black spiky ponytail. He took in every detail and when she turned to face him for a brief second.

He nearly cried.

There standing watching him with as much interest and longing was Mei Hoshigaki the supposed dead legacy of Kisame Hoshigaki. He remained frozen to the spot as he searched for some possible explanation for why she was in the Hidden Leaf Village and not with The Alatsuki or dead in a grave.

Not to say that he wanted her dead! He was over the moon with joy. He just hadn't expected her sudden re-arrival in his life again. Pushing aside his feelings he went over to the group and started talking to them happily.

"Yo~ I'm Kabuto Yakushi" he said, catching the rest of the groups attention. The rest of the group slowly introduced themselves but he noticed Mei hiding behind Shikamaru. Kabuto read the look in her eyes and had to hold back so as to not blow his cover.

Her large blue eyes stated clearly that she wanted to run up to him and cry into his shoulder. Kabuto smiled reassuringly and turned back to the target. Complying with his wishes for more information about Neji Hyūga, Rock Lee and Gaara.

His small speech on the very difficult Chūnin Exams was interrupted by a loud, thunderous voice.

"Listen up you baby-faces maggots!! I am Ibiki Morino, the First Proctor and from this moment onwards: Your Worst Nighmare"
