Chapter 45

Sasori sighed a little from inside his puppet, Hiruko. He could sense the group of ninja that had just stopped in front of the entrance and turned to Deidara, signalling to him about the group.

Deidara sighed and spoke up, telling the group of holograms about the potential intruders.

"I see, it seems Kisame and Itachi's subordinate's weren't enough for them" Pein replied to Deidara, glaring lightly at the vacant places that used to hold the aforementioned. "Nevermind, the process is complete. Hidan, Kakazu I expect you two to back at the base within a month, Zetsu I want you to watch any battle that will come, Deidara and Sasori I expect the both of you alive at the end of this. Konan and I will wait for each of you to return to our main base, dismissed" Pein finished, turning to Konan and fazing out.

Sasori watched from the inside his puppet as the rest of the members fazed out. He sighed before turning to face the wall, sparing a quick glance at the blond brat. Then they waited, hard glares pointed at the surface of the rock that blocked the intruders paths.

Kakashi sighed lightly as he looked up to the rock. It had a large tag squarely in the middle of the surface and was rather smooth-looking. He turned a moment later to see Gai, his students and a dark skinned women with white hair.

"W-who's that Gai-sensei?" Sakura asked, fidgeting slightly. "It's Mei, she has to go undercover for this mission" Gai responsed for Mei, who waved a little.

"Mei,you know the middle St about these people, what should we do?" Kakashi asked, waving back a little. "I'll be right in assuming that you were met with resistance from Itachi Uchiha? We fought his partner Kisame Hoshigaki" Mei asked, crossing her arms and moving towards the new group.

Kakashi nodded and sent her a worries look. "I'm fine. We'll have to assume that they've already fled and have began their return to the main base. There is no point in chasing after them, that leaves 7 members left. We know for a fact that Deidara and Sasori are on the other side of that rock, and the other 5 are scattered around the area.

"We know that the leader and his second in command Do Not leave the main base so unless you have a death wish we'll have to ignore them at the moment. Zetsu, a plant/human hybrid will most likely be sneaking around and documenting everything. If he approaches you do not run, answer his questions and commit everything he tells you to memory.

"The last two will be the trickiest. I believe it'll be best for me to take them on alone. They won't recognised me like this but I know their fighting patterns best. We'll split into three groups; the remainder of Team Kakashi and Chiyo, Team Gai and I" Mei explained fully. "But what about your fight with Kisame?! You just about drowned!" Lee cried, causing Kakashi to stare at her.

"Lee, I had planned for him to try and drown me. I wanted him to think he had gotten rid of me. Element of surprise" Mei replied, sighing a little. "Back to what's important, that seal has five parts to it. It's spread out around the area, this one being the first seal and four others within a traversable range" Mei continued, drawing a diagram of a pentagon in the sand around them with a stick.

"Team Gai is the faster team and single combat comes to them easier, they'll spread out and dismantle the seal then return here. Team Kakashi and Chiyo will remain here and launch the first attack, I'll hear out to see if I can't place a tracking tag on one of the two remaining members" Mei instructioned, looking around to see most of them nod in understanding.

Sakura and Naruto whispered for a moment before Sakura stepped forward. "We have something to tell you Mei-" Sakura began, "I know full well that Naruto is a Jinchuuriki, I've known longer than Naruto has known himself" Mei interrupted, brushing her weariness away. "Neji, could you do a scan and write down the coordinates to each seal part, Gai hand out the short-distance radios to each of your team members and one to Kakashi please, oh and one last thing, if you must talk about me refer to me as 'Hatake-san' or chan or by the letter M" Mei finished before pulling out a radio and strapping it around her neck.
