Chapter 7

Mei sat in her room, fighting back a rainfall of tears. Another large explosion sounded and she gasped, tears finally spilling over her large blue orbs.

She hid her orange head in her arms and wailed loudly, wishing that the previous argument didn't happen.

Itachi and Orochimaru sat in the lounge, Mei hiding from Hidan and Zetsu, when Orochimaru attacked. Mei gasped loudly as Itachi caught the Kunai and stood defensively.

"Is there something wrong Orochimaru-San?" Itachi asked. "No, I just need something from you" Orochimaru stated, sensing that there was defiantly going to be a battle.

"What could that be?" Itachi asked, his eyes bleeding into red. "Your body, as my next vessel" Orochimaru replied. Itachi stilled, not quite understanding his motive.

Mei eyes clouded over in puzzlement, 'what does he mean by vessel?'.

A pair of warm, yet stiff, arms wrapped themselves around her waist. "What's going on?" A voice whispered. "Orochi-Nii and Itachi-Nii are fighting. Something about a vessel. Is Itachi-Nii and Orochi-Nii going to be ok?" Mei asked turning around to see Sasori with a frown on his face.

"I don't know Mei, go find Kisame, he'll tell you where to go" Sasori said, unwrapping his arms from around her and gently pushing her towards the blue nin's room.

Mei knocked on the door and it swung open just as a large explosion sounded. Kisame pulled his daughter in and slammed the door. "Mei see that door over there? It's the door that connects our rooms, go through and stay low, papa will come and get you soon ok?" He asked kissing her forehead lovingly.

Mei nodded and hugged him, placing a swift kiss on his cheek and walking over to the door and sliding into her room just as another explosion sounded, causing to lean against the wall. Soon after another explosion shook the building and Mei slid down to the floor.

For the first time Mei was truly terrified of the men that she shared a home with..

Another explosion shook the building and the door creaked open. Mei stood up, tears still clouding her vision and hugged the man before her. A slender hand ran through her silky orange hair.

"I'm sssorry Mei, I didn't mean to make you cry" a voice said gently, it sounded as though the owner had been wounded badly. "O-Orochi-Nii?" Mei asked letting go of the man and walking backwards, she noticed one of his arms bleeding profoundly. "Mei, you won't sssee me or Kabuto for a while, I'm very sssorry" He replied as Kabuto appeared behind him his eyes downcast and upset.

Mei looked at Kabuto with large eyes, and Kabuto reacted without thinking, hugging her tightly and forcing himself to shallow tears.

"I'm sorry Imōto-chan. So is Orochimaru-Sama" Kabuto whined, as another explosion rattle the house. Mei nodded as she felt her arm being picked up.

A sharp, excruciatingly painful stab of pain shoot through her arm. Mei's eyes widened and she struggled against Kabuto, who was still hugging her. Fresh tears ran down her face as she screamed loudly, the two disappeared as Kisame burst through the door.

Mei fell to the floor, grasping her wrist and sobbing uncontrollably. Kisame ran across the room and picked up his daughter looking for any sign of harm on her body. His eyes widened as he saw the dark seal on Mei's wrist.

"Kisame? What happened?" Konan asked walking into the room. "The bastard... He put A GODDAMNED CURSE MARK ON HER!!!" Kisame roared furiously, shaking angrily as Konan took Mei and left the room as Kisame jumped out of the window, disappearing for a few hours.

Kabuto sat in the corner of the room, his glasses smashed and lying across the room. His eyes were puffy and blood-shot red, Orochimaru waited for him to speak, knowing that he deserved the nearing explosion from his loyal student.

"Well? Are you going to sssay anything?" Orochimaru asked. Kabuto stared at him, sadness showing through his eyes.

"You, promised. You promised that you wouldn't hurt Imōto" Kabuto sobbed. "It wasss to help her-". "BULLSHIT!!! YOU PROMISED YOU WEREN'T GONNA HURT HER!!! YOU PROMISED YOU WEREN'T GONNA PUT A CURSE MARK ON HER!!" Kabuto roared, fresh tears pulling over his eyes.

Orochimaru hung his head, his eyes void of emotion. "I know I did. And I'm sssorry, I didn't want to harm her" Orochimaru said softly. "YET YOU DID!! WHAT'S NEXT? HUH? ARE YOU GONNA MAKE HER YOUR GODDAMNED VESSEL!?!?!" Kabuto screamed.

Orochimaru had expected as much, so kept his cool. "You know I would never do that. Kabuto I know how you felt about her, ssso I'm deeply sssorry for doing thisss to her" Orochimaru said, walking from the room.

"Do you? Do you really know? How much I loved her?" Kabuto asked. "Kabuto?" Orochimaru asked his eyes widening slightly. "So what!?! I loved her! Now she'll never forgive me!" Kabuto screamed fleeing from the room as Orochimaru sat down on his chair.

"Kidsss" Orochimaru mused, sighing as he fell into a light slumber.
