Mei looked up at the village gates, it had been a long time since she's seen them and she smiled a bit at them. She held her hand high and walked towards the gate, stepping over as a lite breeze came up behind her and causing her hair to fan out in the wind.

"Well, look who it is" a voice mused, causing Mei to look around. "Kotetsu! Izumo! You're still here?" Mei teased, sticking her tongue out at the pair. Kotetsu growled lightly as Izumo chuckled loudly at the teen. "Naruto just came through you know, you should catch up" Izumo informed, gesturing for her to keep moving.

"Oh, go ahead and get rid of me then" Mei replied, rolling her eyes and waving her right hand at them and walking away. She slowly made her way through the village, taking in smells and sights she had almost forgotten about in her travels. Mei was soon at the base of the Hokage base.

She sighed lightly and started climbing up the stairs, making her way as slowly as possible. Alas she was soon outside the door, raising her bandaged hand she knocked gently against the door and waited for a welcoming in.

An irritated 'come in' chimed from the other side of the door. Mei fixed a small, apologetic smile onto her face and sheepishly opened the door. "Sorry for interrupting but I thought you'd might like to see me" she giggled, waving a little at the ninja inside.

"MEI!!" A voice cried, tackling her to the floor. Mei grunted a little as she and the unmistakably idiotic blond ninja hugged her tightly and tackled her to the ground. "Naruto! Get off before I shove my foot down your throat!" Mei threatened, earning a chuckle from the blonde Hokage. Mei looked down and found that Naruto had ditched the blue and orange jumpsuit and replaced with an orange and black jumpsuit and replaced his standard ninja head band with a black one where the remaining ribbon reached past his neck.

"Good day to you Mei, I see you got here safely" Tsunade greeted, watching as Mei kicked Naruto off of her and walked into the office. "Now, if they're will be no more interruptions, onwards. To test your abilities, that I'm sure you've been maturing and developing these past years, you will be put against a person of my choosing" Tsunade explained, knitting her fingers together.

"He should be here now" Tsunade added as another knock came from the door. This time it revealed Shikamaru, all grown up with slightly longer hair, standard Chūnin gear and his headband sown onto his shirt arm, and Temari, who had ditched her shorter pale dress for a longer, darker one.

"Shikamaru? Are you our opponent?" Naruto asked, running to greet him as Mei and Sakura took this chance to give each other a quick hug and a once over.

Mei noticed that Sakura had let her hair grow slightly and had finally ditched the sleeveless kimono. She had instead dawned on a shirt version of the kimono and a pair of skin tight shorts and a grey skirt-like covering was placed over the shorts with matching elbow covers placed on her arms. The whole outfit was given open toed ninja boots that were dark grey, but not quite black, to finish it off.

As Mei was taking this all in Sakura was taking in Mei's outfit. At first glance it appeared to be a white and light grey kimono, but then, at a closer inspection it was revealed to be a pale purple shirt that closed through a zip that sat completely closed at the base of her neck. A grey skirt sat at her waist and spilt on either side, black shorts sat underneath looking skintight against her hips. On her left arm a half sleeve of fishnet came out from the shirt and met a trail of decorative bandages, her right arm had a sleeve of light grey material that didn't connect with her shirt, it was wound with black rope and ended just before her hand. Her right leg had a small bandage upon it that met her right shoe which where similar to Sakura's but were darker in colour. Mei had the top half of her hair up in a ponytail but the rest ended around her lower back. Sakura also noticed the three piercings on her left ear, looking quite fresh as the skin was still slightly irritated.

Mei and Sakura giggled a little as Naruto and Shikamaru conversed slightly. Shikamaru denied being the group's sparing partner. Naruto was then pointed in the direction of the window were the real sparing partner was. Kakashi sat outside the office, still reading his pervy book that he loved so. Mei slid into step with Shikamaru and gave Temari a quick hug before nudging the dark haired teen next to her.

"Long time, no see" Mei whispered, causing a small smile to show on the male's face. "Yeah, nice to see you too" Shikamaru responded, nudging her with his elbow. Mei giggled a little, causing a light blush to bloom on the male's face.

"Now that's all sorted, I need to speak to Mei alone. Please leave" Tsunade requested, shooing away the ninja. All but Kakashi left, leaving the three ninja to speak privately.

"First things first, your lineage has been extended to two others, Kakashi here and Shikamaru. Other then that no-one is aware of your family's history outside of the normal circle of people. Another thing is your home arrangements have been changed as Kakashi has found himself a, uhhh, roommate, and I'd rather not subject you to their rather open lifestyle. Your quarters are temporarily at the Nara estate as they have a spare room, and are willing to allow you to stay in their home, provided you help with meals and do your own laundry. You are then to find your own house in your own time. Also, I like your new headband, you look good in white" Tsunade counted off, smiling a little as she told her all the news.

"Roommate? Open? The hell's going on Tou-San?" Mei asked, smiling a little in her confusion. "Come over for dinner and you'll see" Kakashi replied, feeling a pinch of happiness at her habit and a twinge of embarrassment at the Hokage's words. "Sure thing, is there anything else you need Hokage-Sama?" Mei asked, directing her ever-present smile to the woman. "No that's all, get going to the training grounds" Tsunade commanded, shooing them away.
