Nothing makes my heart skip a beat like the sight of Siyanda in a dress and heels wearing light makeup and a straight hair wig. I stare at her as she walks down the stairs , smilling , talking to Courtney like she wasn't crying recently. She winks at me and heads out the door while Courtney tells me that they are off to Rosebank for some dinner and I want to ask them if I can join but I don't because I'm a shy guy and besides , she deserves to have a friend and to have some fun.
****Siyanda Khumalo ****
Mpilo's car and another car park at the same time next to each other in the underground parking lot and Courtney kisses him a million times before telling him to come pick us up at 11 pm. After we get out of the car and wave at him while he drives off a phone vibrates in my handbag and I take it out and give it to Courtney who answers it and walks a few steps leaving me next to this red car. I give it a once over and freeze when I realise that it looks like Akhumzi's car.
'Don't tell me you have a thing for polo drivers" Courtney says grabbing my attention and I laugh it off but when we walk behind it I look at the plate number and I know that it's his car . I know his plate number by heart , so yes it's his and when the door opens I hardly get a chance to see who gets out because Courtney grabs my hand flashing her boyfriend's card in my face and I follow her to the elevator .
Our food arrives late and half my steak is burnt , the onion rings are mushy , Courtney's drink tastes bad and we call the waiter who tells us to wait while he calls he chef and gives us free champaign . My gut tells me something is wrong and while Courtney pours the Champaign I look around & I see nothing because of the dim lights so I assume that its just trauma from that day.
When the chef arrives Courtney talks to him and I get that gut feeling again so I excuse myself and go to the bathroom. I just stajnd and stare at myself in the mirror for a few minutes and then I drop my head , place my hands on the sink , bend a little , stare at my feet and think , am I that traumatized? What on earth is going on and How can I shake this gut feeling off me ? Courtney is trying to cheer me up and here I am. Wow Siyanda no matter you don't have friends.
A toilet is flushed , the door opens and a woman wearing a long red jump suit steps out ,stands next to me and washes her hands. ' Siyanda? Hi! What are you doing here ?Its been a long time since I last saw you " Gosiame says bringing me into a hug and I don't know man , she does sound genuine but that feeling isn't going away so I just look at her and smile . ' I'm soo glad we bumped into each other now , I missed you soo much " I say and she says ' Aww I missed you too and I would love to stay and chit chat but my man would come looking for me so I will call you when I get home" and she leaves me.
I take five more minutes to myself before I head out and tell Courtney everything. We finish our food and I decide that I want to introduce her to Gosiame so I grab her hand ,sliding her palm into mine and we walk around the restuarant for a good 2 minutes before I spot her. I find her sitting infront of a man and Courtney giggles softly with excitement while telling me about all the plans that she already has for us , the three musketeers and when we arrive at their table and I look closer at her man I freeze on the spot because sitting infront of Gosiame is Akhumzi Khumalo.
I don't know what gets into me because as a waiter passes by their table with a bottle of wine on a tray I grab the bottle and hit him , I hear Courtney and other customers screaming but I stop hearing anything when Gosiame stands up , elbowing me in the chin, causing me to stumble back and bump into other customers.
I don't know what happens next because I loose my vision for a moment and when I regain my vision I feel a sharp pain on my head and in different places on my body and I look around me and see Duduzane pacing around his living room and Courtney leaning on Mpilo . Duduzane crunches by my side and puts his hand by my forehead , saying something that I cannot make up and he moves aside and holds my hand instead once a woman in a white coat stands above me .
I close my eyes and when I open them I see that I am in a different room , I try to lift my hand but I fail and I try to sit up but I fail too so I just close my eyes. When I open them again I see Duduzane giving a police officer a brown envelope and the police officer walking towards me and I close my eyes and cry , Am I arrested? What will my mother say ? How will people at work look at me ? Does Akhumzi hate me to an extent where he opens a case ? Will I get kicked out of the house ?
A cold hand touches my cheek , sweeping the tears off and when I swing my eyes open I see Duduzane leaning over me and he places a kiss on myforehead. 'You're going to be alright and you're going to come home soon ,don't cry" he says softly , looking into my eyes .

Dr Aphane said Siyanda will be dismissed in two days and I'm not going anywhere , not even to shower or sleep , I will sleep in this chair until she is discharged . Mpilo brought me food earlier on and im not sure if I'm hungry. I don't really know what happened last night and how Siyanda ended up with two broken ribs , a swollen arm and glasses in her sculp. Courtney is still traumatized so she isn't saying anything , I doubt she will and the police officers say Siyanda hit Akhumzi with a bottle on his head and then got into a brutal fight with Gosiame. Mpilo bribed the restaurant manager and payed an easy hundred thousand rands for the damaged furniture and to journalists and news reporters so this matter gets swept underthe rug. I paid the Pretoria station commander and commissioner a few thousands for them to sweep the matter under the rug should Akhumzi want to do anything silly
