the tree of life

Time skip 5 hours (8 PM)
Dalton(B) pov
The sun is setting, so we take a minute to catch our breath and get water. We take breaks about every hour.
Hannah says, "This is so boring." I chuckle and say, "I know we don't have long left, though." She sighs and says, "Carry me." I laugh, and we stand to start to leave.
*Time skip 3 hours*
We finally see a light about a mile in front of us and we all celebrate a little but there's still a lot of walking to do so I say "How about I go ahead and tell the queen or whatever we're coming so she doesn't think we're trying to do something bad." Kion says."If you want, do you know what the princess looks like." I say."No." He says, "She has dark brown fur with a lighter underbelly and brown eyes if I remember right, her name is Rani she leads a guard at night." I say "OK brown lioness named Rani." He nods, and I run ahead while everyone else takes a break.
As I run, I get lost in my thoughts
*in mind*
It feels good to run again. I miss this. What am I gonna tell Rani?
*normal*
As I get closer, I see a passageway, so I slow down and walk through it to make sure it's safe. I make it most of the way through before I hear, "What are you doing here, cheetah?" I turn and see a lioness matching Kion's description of Rani, but I say, "I'm with the lion guard. We have an urgent message for the queen." The lioness says, "I am Princess Rani. I will take your message." I say "My name is Dalton or DB but there's an army coming to use the power of the tree of life named Shadow Company led by Phillip Graves so me and the lion guard are here to help." She looks at me and says,"Good to know, but who is this guard you speak of?" I say,"The Lion Guard from the pridelands, we are a group of animals that protect the pridelands and the circle of life."
She says, "Where are they?" I say."A little bit back, I volunteered to come first to tell you about us." She says "Ok me and the Night Pride will keep an eye out." I don't know what the Night Pride is, but before I can ask, 4 more lions appear all similarly colored to Rani. One looks almost the same, just a boy who I assume is her brother. She says "Bayilo there will be a group of animals coming soon, know as the lion guard keeps an eye out." She then asks me "Dalton who is the leader?" I say,"Prince Kiongozi or just Kion." She nods and says,"Go rest, you've had a long journey." I say, "Yes Ma'am thank you, Ma'am." With that, I walk away to find a cave to sleep in.
*Time skip 5 minutes*
I find an empty cave and lay down, but before I can fall asleep, I hear footsteps, and a girl says, "Who are you? " She sounds assertive, so I stand and say, "I'm Dalton, and sorry if this is your cave. I just got here." She says, 'It's okay. You can stay here if you need to." I say."If you want, I can leave." She says "No really stay if you want, I don't mind." I say."Thank you, I'll only be here for a night, I think." She says,"OK." I say."I'll stay out of your way." She walks over to the other side of the cave, and I fall asleep pretty quick.
*Time skip 30 minutes*
Kion pov
We eventually make it to the Tree of life and are confronted by a group of lions, including one who matches the description of Rani, so I say "Were the lion guard I assume Dalton told you about us." The lioness nods and says "Yes my name is Rani. I am the princess, and this is the Night Pride, but we will introduce ourselves tomorrow. You should rest. There are empty caves scattered around. I know of some over there, or you can sleep outside." I say "Yes Ma'am thank you." Kion and the lion guard separate for the night and all sleep until early the next morning.
*Rani pov*
(Same night)
As we finish our nightly patrol, I hear Bayilo yell "Rani they're here!" I hurry to the entrance to meet them, and we talk for a moment.
*Time skip next day*
Dalton(B) pov
I wake up and leave the cave because the girl is still asleep. I look for a watering hole and find one after a minute and go to get a drink.
Once I get a drink, I hear a girl say, "Good morning." I recognize the voice as the girl from last night, so I turn around and say,"Mornin." She asks."What was your name again?" I say,"Dalton, what's yours?" She says,"Amari, nice to meet you." She puts her paw out, and we shake paws, and I notice she has pretty blue eyes and soft fur. As we separate paws, I hear Ono flying over and yell, "Hey, Dalton, Kion and Rani want the guard to meet up at the tree of life in a few minutes." I say,'OK Ono, I'll be there." She says,'You'd better go. I say "Uh Yeah I guess I'll see you around." She smiles at me, and I walk away thinking
*in mind*
She's pretty. Wait, I can't think that she's a cheetah. You're a cheetah. No, I'm a human. Not anymore. I don't know what to think about her. She's pretty, you know that, and you're both cheetahs, so what. It's just that I was a human, and I already rejected Fuli because of that, I can't call others pretty. Sure you can.
I snap out of my thoughts as I reach the Tree of Life and see everyone. I walk over and sit near Hannah as Rani starts speaking she says "Hi I'm Rani, and this is the Night Pride." Everyone in the Night Pride introduces themselves, and kion says,"Nice to meet yall, I'm Kion this is the Lion guard." We introduce ourselves, and I say,"Hannah's my sister and just here to help before any fighting." Bayilo says,"I knew it. You guys look just like each other." I look at Hannah, and she looks at me, and I chuckle before saying,"Yeah, I guess." We talk for a moment until we hear someone yell."Night Pride, we have strangers at the entrance, and they don't look friendly." Everyone stands up, and we rush over to an entrance without Hannah where we see various animals about 3 lions 2 cheetahs and a tiger, all of which have a skull pattern on their right shoulder so I know it's shadow.
Rani says "Alright everyone take one person or help someone." Everyone says who they'll get, and I have to help Rani with the tiger. It doesn't go as planned.
The ambush works, but the tiger overpowers me, and Rani and everyone else is busy with their fight. I try to escape, but his grips are too tight, so I lose my energy fast and start to give up. But before I'm out of energy, he's hit from the side and knocked off. As I get to my feet, I hear Hannah say, "Get off, my brother." I say."What are you doing?" She says," Helping." I sigh and say "Fine just don't die." She says, 'I won't." Now it's a three v one, and we can easily beat him.
We surround him as the rest finish their fights, and the tiger runs off before we encircle him.
We start to walk back to the tree to have our wounds treated and to make a strategy for the next few days.
