When I run to help, I see an army of between 60 and 70, so I round up everyone, all totaling 65 troops. So I say "Alright were pretty evenly numbered, but they have two tigers it'll take two lions, probably to take 1 help out with them. Our goal is to push them back to their work so encircle and try and surprise them." Everyone quietly agrees, so I say,"Let's getter done."I look at Kion and say,"On you commander." He says,"Let's go encircle them make our forces seem larger than they are." We all move to position, but carnage follows.
Hannah pov
I sneak down to join the soldiers so I can fight. Somehow, no one notices, so I'm with everyone when the fight starts. As we get closer, someone whispers to me, "Who are you?" I say, "I'm Hannah, Daltons sister." He says,"Never seen you before. " I Say."I've only been here a couple of days." He nods, and we continue in silence until we are within earshot of the other side. Before any fighting starts, kion announces, "we will give you one chance to return to your world before this fight." A jackal and lion face them, and the jackal says in a light russian accent."We will not back down." I see fear in the eyes of my comrades, so I ask ."Who is that?" The boy from earlier says,"Jusable one of the best fighters from no man's land."
That's when Dalton sees me.
He mouthed. "Get over here." I move over to him, and he says, "What are you doing here I told you to stay with Janna." I say,"I couldn't it's my responsibility to help." He gives me a death stare but says."I respect that, but if you die, I'll kill you." I chuckle and say, "Ok." He says,"Don't try that jackal." I say. "I won't." Then Jusable says,"Send me your best fighter, and we'll start this." All the eyes turn to face Dalton, who nods and says,"That's me." I'm shocked at his bravery, but I can't stop him. He walks up, and the two armies are ready to fight. Dalton gets into a defensive position, and Jusable attacks first. The fighting starts, and I fight a lion until he is unconscious, but my head is spinning, and i start to feel dizzy before falling to the ground. It takes me a few minutes to recover, but when I stand up, I know we're winning because their numbers are dwindling. I see kion and the lion I can assume is Graves fighting and Dalton still going with Jusable.
Kion pov
At the beginning of the battle me and Graves fight and he's not as well trained as I expected, but he's strong, so he's still hard to fight. We trade punches and scratches until I pin him and begin to cut into him. He is weak from the fight, so he dies fast, but it is not over.
Dalton pov
My fight with Jusable is harder than I expected, but I can see him losing stamina, but I know I'm weak also. He lands a few punches and knocks me to the ground. He begins to taunt me by cutting into my skin, but he stops abruptly, and I hear a loud thud. I look and see a dark cheetah attacking him, so I weakly say, "Hannah, no." Jusable easily overpowers her, so I stand and say, "Leave her out of this Jusable." In his light Russian accent, he says, "She is your sister, correct?" I say."Yes." He smiles and runs his paw across her face as he says, " She is beautiful too bad she is the enemy." He unsheaths a claw and put it to her neck. I say, "No. This is between us, not her!" He drops her and says, "Then, let's fight." I say. "Bring it." He quickly scratches my eye, and I lose sight in it. I am weak, so I can not do much, so he lands a blow to my leg and chest." I fall to the ground and cough up some blood. He says, "Stay down, and you might live." I stand and say, "I can't do that." He says,"Fine then, you will die." I know I can not win, but maybe I can stop him. I land a scratch, but he scratches my front right leg deep, and I lose all feeling in it and he says,"You should've listened, and your mother wouldn't lose two children today." I try to stand, but I can't, but I hear a growl again it's Hannah with the others, and she says, "It is over you're men are gone now leave." He says,"You have won this time, but he has not." I'm growing weaker by the minute, and Hannah nuzzles me, saying, "Don't die D, please." I say, "I'm trying, but I don't think I'm gonna make it." She says, "No, please." I say, "I'm sorry, but tell ma, I wasn't scared, and not to cry over me." She says, "Dalton, I will." She buries her face in my fur, and I rub her head weakly, saying, "Make sure she knows what happened please and that I love her and all of you." She nods but doesn't leave my fur." Everyone around is sad, and kion says,"I'm sorry, brother, I should've been there." I say "No I did this." No one else can say anything through the tears until Makini asks them to leave. I get a few hugs and goodbyes from my friends until they leave. And makini says, "I can't help you. I'm sorry." I say," I know."
Amari pov
3 months later, Dalton is dead, his body is lost, and I tell our cubs his story.
I say, " And your dad died on that field his last words were, "Till the end we will fight." Jabari says,"What it can't end like that." I say, "Sadly it did." Mika says, "But you never found his body he could be alive." I say, "No, he could not have made it anywhere." Imani says, "But he was a hero, and the hero never dies." I say, "Legends never die. They may leave this world, but they will always be with us in our minds, our stories, and our hearts."
