It was a quiet morning on campus. The silence comes to no surprise, students take advantage of their sleep on Saturdays.

The sun was warm and kind, not too harsh to the point Lisa could feel her skin burning. The breeze was cool and the birds were chirping but she couldn't hear the sounds of nature due to her ear phones. She was blasting one of her favorite songs as she jogged around the school.

She ran at a steady pace with no goal in mind. Her breath was slightly ragged...okay, it was very very ragged. She hadn't run since she arrived so her lungs were suffering and she was hoping that her muscles would soon remember how to jog the way she used to so the annoying ache in her calves and knees would end.

And as she ran around a corner, she found herself near the school's garden where the flowers were close to blooming. Lisa smiled, admiring the colors and the fresh scent till her eyes took notice of someone familiar.

Her brows furrowed and she began to slow down as curiosity settled in.

"Jennie?"

And as she grew closer, she confirmed that it was Jennie. But, she looked different. She looked lost which caused her to completely stop her movements. Panting, she analyzed the sad eyes that stared forward, never once noticing Lisa. Then again, Lisa was hiding behind a tree.

Gosh, she felt like a creep, breathing heavily while staring at a pretty girl from behind a damn tree. Could she be more pathetic?

Yet, she couldn't find the strength to walk up to her. Not when Jennie looked the way she did. Beautiful per usual, but her expression...well, it clenched her chest. Which led her to realization, she hadn't spoken to Jennie for days and..she missed her.

So, Lisa finally stepped away from the tree and made her way to her. Lisa must have made too much movement because Jennie had turned her way. Her lips curved but her eyes flashed with uncertainty. Was it in Lisa's mind? Perhaps, and maybe Lisa would've completely believed that it was but Jennie was not smiling her usual smile.

It surprised her. Lisa believed she had unwillingly memorized every last detail of the brunette but the air around looked different– felt different. Something was changing and Lisa felt herself falling anew.

Jennie stood up from the stoned bench she sat on and met Lisa halfway. She stared up at Lisa and being near, Lisa noticed how tired she looked. She nearly frowned.

"Lisa," Jennie murmured, "It's good to see you but why am I seeing you as early as this on a saturday?" She joked, grinning, but even grinning looked difficult for Jennie to do and all Lisa wanted was to bring her close and hold her. She looked so fragile.

Lisa smiled slightly, "I could ask you the same thing," she replied. "Why are you up so early? You were never really a morning person." Lisa would've internally scolded herself for even bringing that known fact up if it weren't for the fact that Jennie smiled. She smiled because Lisa remembered.

Jennie shrugged, "Just thinking. Couldn't sleep too much."

"I see," but did Lisa really see? "Do you want to talk about it?" she offered an opening. Of course she would, anything to  do with Jennie's mind, Lisa would want to know.

Lisa always found Jennie's thoughts fascinating. She neve understood how much information the girl can attain. Jennie knew so much about life...yet, when it came to Lisa's heart and wants, Jennie was oblivious. Again, she is fascinating.

"Not yet, there's still a few things I'm sorting out up here," Jennie tapped her forehead with a small smile, "But, I promise, when I have the answer you will be the first to know." Something flickered again in those damn alluring eyes...
