A/N: sorry everyone! I was in Croatia and when I came back I had a flu so I couldn't concentrate on anything else! But I'm back and feeling good!
It was nearly 11pm by the time they made it back to their school. The ride home was quiet. But not for Chaeyoung and Jisoo. Those two filled the silence with random facts about chili peppers or if they were an animal, what would they be? While Lisa pretended to be asleep.
She needed the time to think. Perhaps even forget the way Jennie looked at her on the balcony. Her brown eyes were so open and the look in them clenched Lisa's heart deeply. Fear. Jennie looked so scared and so fragile.
It didn't help that even Jennie remained silent in the car. Responding with soft, short words. As if she too were deep in her thoughts.
"Ugh, I hate that we're back," Chaeyoung whined, sliding out of the driver's seat and reaching up, stretching her long limbs with a soft groan. Jisoo stretched as well, rolling her neck around,
"I know, this weekend was so fun. And now we're back in jail."
Lisa laughed quietly as she too slid out of the car, walking towards the back only to freeze as Jennie walked towards the back as well. Their eyes met and widened for a moment. But then, Jennie softened and smiled and Lisa knew she would be dreaming about that damn smile.
"Happy to be back?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She sounded careful. Lisa wondered if she found the answer she needed in that car ride. Lisa grinned, opening the trunk,
"Absolutely not."
Jennie laughed quietly, watching Lisa pull out their bags one by one,
"Yeah, I'm not too excited either. Especially since I have to wake up early tomorrow for class." She spoke so casually, like the balcony moment never happened and maybe Lisa was relieved about it. She didn't want it to be awkward between the two again. Lisa huffed as she closed the trunk,
"Well," she paused, she looked at Jennie again and pouted playfully, "At least you don't have to wake up early to dance for two damn hours." Jennie laughed lightly, seeming to be more relaxed as she leaned her side against the car with her arms crossed,
"You have nothing to worry about. You've always been a great dancer. It's in your blood," she said, her eyes never leaving Lisa's eyes that shone brightly from that remark.
She knows she's a good dancer, yet, hearing that said from Jennie made her feel like she was the best dancer in the world. Lisa leaned her side against the car as well, her smile shy and cheeks slightly red,
"Yeah? You think so?"
Jennie smiled even wider, "I know so." Lisa's heart fluttered from her honesty. "Which leads me to asking, can I watch you dance sometime?" It was Jennie's turn to look shy.
Lisa perked a brow and grinned slyly, "Is my dancing that intriguing to you?" She teased, chuckling as Jennie's cheeks turned a deeper shade of red.
"I mean, I've always loved watching you dance, so..."
And maybe that was what gave Lisa a surge of confidence to push herself off the car and take a step closer to Jennie.
Jennie widened her eyes for a second and looked down. They stood so closely and Lisa could almost hear Jennie shudder a breath. Almost.
"Is that what you want?" Lisa asked, her tone strained, like she was fighting against everything inside her not to touch the woman in front of her. Especially when Jennie stared up at her through her lashes. "You want to watch me?"
Jennie slowly lifted her chin to stare into Lisa eyes, her own heart thundering,
"Yes," she whispered.
