Lisa shivered and her teeth chattered as she woke up to the sun slowly rising, realizing she had fallen asleep on the sand by the fire pit. The air was chilly, the fire was gone and the wood was burnt with a very small smoke drifting side to side from the light wind. Lisa groaned, her back ached from laying on the sand, but when she opened her eyes and looked to her side, she smiled softly.
Jennie laid on her side, facing Lisa. She was curled up, her cheek resting on her hands that were pressed together and breathing softly and Lisa no longer felt the cold air around her. Slowly, Lisa sat up, her eyes never leaving Jennie's sleeping figure. She found Jennie absolutely adorable. But then Jennie shivered and Lisa grinned,
"Hey, Jen?" She reached over and shook Jennie's shoulders lightly, "Wake up." Jennie stirred and frowned for a moment before breathing softly again. Lisa laughed quietly before scooting over and leaning over her. And, just like last night, Lisa used her fingertips to brush away the strands of Jennie's hair from her face, "Come on Jennie. It's cold. You should be sleeping in your bed."
Her touch on Jennie's cheeks were gentle and warm. It was as if she was afraid to hurt her, Jennie realized. She had woken up the first time Lisa tried but she felt so relaxed with Lisa's touches, she didn't want to get up nor be away from her. Lisa was kind and sweet and she found herself leaning to her touch.
"I know you're awake," Lisa teased. And when Jennie's ear reddened, Lisa laughed a little louder. Jennie was still the same Jennie. She placed the last strand of Jennie's hair behind her ear and gently caressed the shell of her ear before pulling away completely. Jennie nearly frowned but when she opened her eyes and met soft eyes, she smiled as well,
"Good morning," Jennie whispered. Lisa felt her heart flutter. She smiled back,
"Good morning."
Jennie yawned and sat up, reaching up to stretch and humming in satisfaction, "What time is it?" Lisa looked down at her watch and chuckled,
"It's only 5:57. We can still get a few more hours of sleep," Lisa said. Jennie raised a brow with a playful smile,
"Here?" She teased, leaning forward a little too closely, not that Lisa minded of course. The corner of Lisa's lip curled upward as she too leaned forward, a challenge in her eyes,
"Is that what you want?"
Jennie felt herself forgetting how to breathe-- how to think. And it was all because of Lisa's eyes. Her beautiful brown eyes. They stared at her, analyzed her and she remembered always feeling vulnerable under Lisa's gaze. But at that moment, she felt content to be the one Lisa looked at.
She playfully pushed Lisa back with a soft, quiet giggled, trying to mask the crisis she felt in her brain.
"Shut up."
Lisa laughed before groaning as she slowly stood up, rolling her neck and stretching her back, "This was a terrible idea," she exhaled out. Jennie simply shrugged, smiling tiredly up at Lisa,
"I thought it was fun."
Lisa looked down and smiled. She agreed. It really was fun. She reached down, smiling that damn smile that made Jennie's brain go all fuzzy. Jennie took Lisa's hand and giggled as Lisa helped her up.
"Why thank you. Chivalry really isn't dead," Jennie playfully said. Lisa smiled, lifting their hand up and twirling her around. She found herself smiling even more when Jennie quietly laughed even more. The sound was –again, adorable. Well, everything about Jennie was adorable to Lisa.
"Only for you," Lisa bowed, still holding onto Jennie's hand, "your highness." Jennie curtsied with a smile so wide in return, her eyes turned into crescent moons. How cute.
"You are too kind," she spoke with a British accent and both entered another fit of giggles. And then they met each other's eyes and just smiled. They just smiled. Because when Lisa looked at Jennie, it was like they were in high school again. Young, free and happy. And when Jennie looked at Lisa, she was just happy to be around Lisa again. She had Lisa back and she did not want to let her go again. "Let's go inside."
Lisa nodded, ready to slip her hand out of Jennie's hand but Jennie tightened her hold. She looked up questioningly but Jennie was looking forward and pulling them both inside.
Interesting.
It was the afternoon now. Jisoo was reading a book on one of the chairs by the pool while Jennie was sunbathing beside her. Lisa had only her legs inside the pool and kept her gaze ahead because if she took one glance at Jennie she knew her heart would stop. That damn bikini. While Chaeyoung sat on the floaty in the pool, a frown on display.
"I can't believe we have to leave tonight," the blonde whined. Jisoo hummed, flipping a page,
"I know. I feel like there is still so much to do here,"
Jennie hummed, nodding in agreement.
"I looked it up and there's a beach bar nearby. Maybe we can go and just chill there for an hour or two and then we can come back and pack up?" Lisa asked. Chaeyoung's smile widened suddenly and her eyes seemed to brighten up.
"Yes! Let's do that!"
Jisoo sighed, "Guess I'll be driving us home tonight."
"This place looks so cool!" Chaeyoung squealed. The music was loud and there were so many people. It was basically an outdoor club. It looked fun, but Lisa had a weird feeling about the place. Especially when eyes were on Jennie. She clenched her jaw and guided her friends from behind, as if she were their body guard.
She looked around and the place did look pretty amazing. On one side was a wooden stage, covered by a white tent that was held by thick wood. There were tiki torches in each corner with mini palm trees. And on the stage was a live band. The opposite side of the band was a wooden hut. The hut was the bar itself. With the wooden dance floor in the middle. Outside had multiple fire pits with four wooden beach chairs surrounding it. The outdoor bar felt tropical.
"Come get a drink with me Chu!" Chaeyoung gripped onto Jisoo's wrist and pulled her through the crowd. Jisoo looked over at Lisa,
"No one stays alone, got it?!" She shouted over the music. Jennie giggled and sent thumbs up. She then looked up and noticed the muscle in Lisa's jaw was clenched. She furrowed her brows and followed her annoyed glare. And from there, she met the flirtatious eyes of a man by the bar. She shuddered in disgust before looking back up at Lisa.
Lisa was glaring at the man so harshly. She didn't like how his eyes wouldn't leave Jennie's figure. Suddenly she felt Jennie's hand place on her cheek, guiding her face downwards to meet Jennie's eyes. Immediately, she felt the anger disappear. Jennie's eyes soothed her immediately.
"Let's go dance," Jennie said, smiling softly, sliding her hand down from Lisa's cheek, down to her arm to hold her hand. Lisa smiled in return with a nod as she let Jennie guide them towards the dance floor.
They began to dance, giggling and moving closer. Jennie took Lisa's other hand and smiled up at her. The way they danced, the way they were moving, reminded her of when they were younger, freely dancing in the bedroom and laughing the way they used to. But then Lisa felt confused.
Because, one moment Jennie was smiling at her, the next her eyes widened in confusion then fear. Lisa then looked down and noticed a pair of hands on Jennie's waist. And when she looked over Jennie's shoulder, she met the eyes of the same guy from the bar. She saw red.
Jennie was about to confront the man but then, in that same instant, Lisa pushed the man's hand off Jennie's waist and swiftly placed her own hands on Jennie's waist instead. Jennie gasped because in the next second her body was pressed up against Lisa and she felt her nose graze Lisa's neck. This time, she shuddered for a whole nother reason.
In a deep, angry voice, Lisa growled, "Don't."
Oh my.
