M I C H A E L ' S P O V
I walked down the school halls, minding my own business. Calum texted me thing morning and told me he was going to be late to school, so I had my dad drop me off. I couldn't have been bothered walking to school alone, today.
It was the first day, and everyone was squealing and hugging their friends like never before. They acted like they were separated for a thousand years, when in reality they probably saw each other over summer. Luke and Ashton were waiting by my locker, talking to one another. Nothing really changed, other than the fact we all grew, especially Luke. He went from slightly chubby and quite short to nearly six foot. Both of them grew their hair, as well. The two had a fringe, which covered their eyes. I wanted to make a joke about their fringes but stopped and remembered I had a fringe as well.
Luke and Ashton's family have been planning this cruise all summer. Their families were quite close since the two boys spent a lot of days together. They invited Calum's family and mine too, except dad couldn't take a long time off of work, and Calum's parents just said no. They didn't give an explanation, but they apologised nicely. That's how it usually was, though. Their families would plan a vacation, invite my family and Calum's family. Either both our families decline or my parents decide to go without me. Calum said his family never went on these trips, and neither of us would push it.
I walk up to my two best friends, and they bring me in the conversation.
I walked up to my best friends, they smiled at me and hugged me.They asked about my summer and asked if anything happened, especially with Calum. I blushed, and they laughed. The bell rang, stopped them from asking me more questions. They threw their arms around my neck and began walking towards homeroom. This year, the four of us had homeroom together.

"So, I heard you and Calum had something going on," Nicole said. She sat next to me in advanced placement math. What she was doing in this class, I didn't know, but maybe I judged her too hard. Maybe she did know her maths and did belong in a class like this.
Calum has yet to come and I felt slightly uncomfortable. Apparently he was in this class too, but I know that he didn't choose this class because he enjoyed math, because quite frankly, math wasn't the only class Calum and I shared. Calum and I shared most of my advanced classes, except for French. I didn't know what class he had, but I had a pretty good feeling he didn't choose those classes because he believed he was wise. I knew he didn't bother with school, he knew he didn't bother with school much either, and the fact he was late on the first day of school gives it away.
"We're friends." I said blandly. I wanted this conversation to end faster than it started.
"Has he tried to get in your pants? Have you guys fucked before? He has a big one, you know. He's rough in bed, too. He looks innocent and cute but he fucks harder than you'd except. God, if you and him didn't have a thing, I would hop right back on him," she smirked.
"Don't use God's name in vain," I cringed. I was gay, and I liked girls clothes, but that didn't mean I didn't believe in God.
"Or what? Let's be honest here, Michael, he's probably only with you because he pities you. I mean, you wear heart shaped sunglasses inside, for fucks sake. No one is going to want to be with you," she said in a duh tone. I nodded my head and looked ahead, trying not to think about what she had just said to me, but I couldn't help it.
Did he say he liked me because I liked him? Did I drag him down and basically for him into asking me out? Did I make him stop doing all the things he liked because I didn't like them?
