Shedeur
Eden had been avoiding me for a while now, and it was starting to get to me. I sat on the bench taking a sip of water after messing up the play we were practicing."You good Sanders? You know we need you out there." Coach asked and I nodded "Yea I'm straight."
"I can get it right coach." I heard, looking up seeing Austin I think his name was. He'd played for me the first two games, and he did alright, but I was better.
"Nah you're good son, just keep practicing throws." Coach said, making Austin visibly angry. His eyes met mine "Fuck you staring at me for? You think you better than me or sumn?" he said now walking towards me making me stand up.
"Aye chill out with all that man, I aint said shit to you." I spoke calmly, pushing him away from me a bit. "Don't fucking touch me bro" he said pushing my hand before walking away.
"Wilson over there throwing a tantrum cause he aint playing." I heard one of the other boys say in the background, "He probably only on the team cause his sister teach here." Another said catching my ear. I turned around looking at the two, "Who his sister?" I asked.
"Dr. Wilson, she bad as hell, teach chemistry or some shit like that I think." One of them told me before they ran off to finish practicing.
Damn. Eden had briefly mentioned her brother went here, but she failed to mention he was on the team with me. Now I really needed to get her to talk to me, and I knew exactly how I was going to go about it.
We had a quiz in class and even though I knew how to do everything, I purposely failed and then went to her office hours.
"So what about this chapter confused you?" she asked trying to be professional.
"Eden I'm not gone hold you I know how to do all this. I'm here cause I miss you. Why you been avoiding me?" I asked making her sigh, "I already told you we cannot date as long as you are my student and you are the same age as my brother, that's crazy Shedeur."
"And I already told you I don't care about none of that. You the same age as my brother, you don't see me tripping. You aint even tell me your brother was on the team with me. That just tell me we got a lot more to learn about each other. You don't want to be public, that's fine, I promise I can still treat you right in private." I explained and she just stared at me, as if searching for an answer on my face.
"Okay Shedeur, prove it." She said and I couldn't hide the smile on my face, "Say less."
I left her office and headed to my family home, glad to see my mom in the kitchen working on dinner.
"Hey ma, you can help me set something up. It's for a girl I'm tryna impress." I said getting straight to the point.
"Sure, what do you have in mind?" she asked, not looking up from the vegetables she was cutting. I loved that she was always willing to help me, with no questions asked.
Eden wanted proof, and I wanted her, so I was down to do whatever.
