Eden
It had been a little while since Thanksgiving and I had started seeing Shedeur less often. He would flake out on our dates and even some of our homework sessions, saying it was because of football or family. I never questioned him too hard, trusting him, considering he'd never done anything like this before.
Besides he was making up for missed time as he buried his head further between my legs, licking and sucking like his life depended on it. I moaned out as my legs started to shake, only prompting him to insert 2 fingers in my entrance.
Despite the intense pleasure I was feeling I couldn't help but notice his phone was vibrating like crazy, but he was ignoring it, only focusing on me.
After I reached climax, he glanced at his phone, before putting it down and walking into the bathroom to clean himself off. It was hard to ignore the consistent buzzing, and I figured maybe it was an emergency and he just didn't want to tell me. I reached over grabbing a robe before getting up and getting his phone off the dresser. I turned it on seeing 10+ missed calls and 50+ messages from someone named Carmen.
I opened the message thread, and I stopped breathing as I started to read what she was sending.
'SHEDEUR!'
'Are you really ignoring me knowing I got these pictures of you fucking on a teacher?!'
'Shedeur I'm trying to be fucking nice to you call me back!'
'Bro you're fucking dumb!'
'So you just gone keep going back and forth fucking us both?!'
'I would've thought you'd leave her alone by now.'
'ANSWER THE FUCKING PHONE!'
I continued scrolling, feeling my heart race as she sent pictures of Shedeur and I having intimate moments at my house. I heard the bathroom door open, and he looked at me, his face immediately falling.
"Baby I can explain." He tried to step closer to me, but I immediately stepped away.
"No Shedeur, why the hell would you not tell me about this? You don't think this is something I needed to know?! That somebody had been stalking and blackmailing you?!" I yelled, feeling tears starting to fall from my eyes.
"I was trying to take care of it, I was gonna tell you, I promise I was." He pleaded but I just shook my head, "You been lying to me for weeks now and if she would've leaked those photos I would've been blindsided! What happened to us being a team huh?!"
"Eden, baby, listen I'm sorry. We can figure this out." He said as he followed me into my closet. I was grabbing all of his clothes and belongings and stuffing them into a bag.
I shoved the bag into his chest once I finished "You need to leave. Now. And call Carmen back before she shows up at my house or something."
"Eden—" he started but I interrupted, "It's Dr. Wilson. Now leave Shedeur."
I avoided his eyes as I walked to the front door, holding it open for him. He left in silence, and I closed the door, taking a breath. I looked down at Bruno who was whining as he sat in front of the door.
"I'm sorry Bru, but that's the last you'll see of him."
I had to sit and take a moment to really process everything that had happened. My heart was aching at the loss of him, and I was scared I was going to lose my job any day now. I really wish he would have just told me; things could've been different.
Omniscient
Shedeur didn't think things could get any worse.
There next game rolled around and when he mind was elsewhere, it affected his game. He had botched a few plays and it was costing them.
"Come on Sanders, get your head in the game!" his coach yelled from the sidelines, he was trying.
"Down, set, hut!" he yelled sending all the players into motion. His eyes scanned the field for his wide receiver, but before he could throw it he felt the wind get knocked out of him from a hard tackle.
Mixed cheers began to erupt from the crowd as the opposing team picked up the fumble and began running it towards the in zone.
Shedeur laid on the field, unable to move from the pain surging through his arm.
Eden watched as medics surrounded him, only intensifying the pain she felt in her heart. She didn't want to see him hurt and felt like she was at fault for him having a bad game. She wished more than anything things could be different between the two of them. She couldn't even celebrate Austin's moment as he was put into the game, and helping the team turn the game around, her mind stuck on the boy who had been escorted into the locker room.
Shedeur had always dreaded getting injured. He and his family sat in silence and disappointment as the doctor explained it was unlikely he'd be able to return to the field this season. That would mean he would miss the championship game, which was in about or month or so, and he simply wasn't willing to accept that.
He made the arrangements to start physical therapy as soon as possible and for the days that followed Shedeur was alone in his apartment.
With his injury, Carmen didn't see any use for him anymore. She had come over and allowed him to clean all the pictures out of her phone, popping out with a basketball player the next day. He was angry at the way things had played out.
He was at his lowest, needing Eden more than ever. The only interactions with one another being in class, where she barely even glanced at him. He dreaded finals, knowing after them he wouldn't have any more windows of opportunity to see her and make things right.
Shedeur didn't even bother studying, it was thanks to Eden his grades were good enough to where he had room to fail. He finished the semester with A's and B's, wishing he could celebrate with the woman he credited to his success.
They had made one another better in their own ways, and now each of their lives seemed dimmer without the other. It seemed as though their was no hope in either finding their way back into the other's lives, and now they just had to find a way to accept that.
