Omniscient

Shedeur was at an off-season practice, unable to shake the feeling that something was wrong. It had been a month since he and Eden's relationship had been exposed, and majority of people had moved on.

Unbeknownst to him, Eden was at her home packing up her life. She'd been sitting on a job offer from a lab based out of Texas for weeks now. She was constantly going back and forth on the idea of telling him but had ultimately convinced herself that his life would be better and less problematic without her in it.

She had reconciled with her mother and had both she and her sister assisting her in packing up her essentials before Shedeur returned.

"Are you sure you want to go through with this Eden?" Lauryn questioned. She couldn't accept her sister's decision after seeing how happy being with Shedeur had made her these past few months.

"Yes Lauryn, stop asking me that." Eden said snappily, knowing the more Lauryn made her question, the more likely she was to change her mind, and she didn't want to do that.

Eden heard a bag drop, but turned around seeing it was neither Lauryn nor her mother. She turned to look at the door seeing Shedeur standing there, even though he wasn't meant to be out of practice for a few more hours.

"We going somewhere?" he asked Eden stepping into the room. Eden started to stutter, not knowing what to say to her lover.

Her mother cleared her throat, "Oh I'm sorry, nice to meet you I'm Shedeur." He extended his hand to woman, and she cautiously shook it.

"My daughter is pretending she wants to take this job in Texas, and leave you behind, but I think we all know that's not true." Grace explained to the young boy who turned to look at Eden, who was staring at the ground.

"Shedeur I heard a lot about you, but I want you to tell me yourself why you want to be with my daughter."

Shedeur paused a moment, before stepping to Eden and lifting her head up so she'd look at him.

"When I first laid eyes on your daughter I thought she was gorgeous, but it's always been more than a physical attraction when it came to her. She showed me just how patient, kind, and caring she was when she went out of her way to help me get my grades up. Not only in her class, but in all my other classes too. Then she smart as hell, but that goes without saying. Your daughter is amazing, and any job or person that loses her...well that's their loss. It didn't take long for me to figure out that I had to make you mine, I had you on my mind nonstop for weeks, and once I got you I never wanted to let you go. Neither of us have been perfect on this journey, but if I had to go through it all over again, just to get back to where we are I would. I love you Eden, so if you want to go to Texas, I'll be right there with you, Colorado not the only team that want me to play for them....so what we doing baby?"

His words had brought Eden to tears, her mother and sister unable to hide their smiles. This was the love that Eden had always dreamed of. Something that felt like a fairy tale or something out of a movie.

Their love may had been forbidden, but it was the greatest love either of them had ever encountered.

It was a love they both intended to keep, no matter what obstacles they had to face in life, they would face them together.
