We were all standing in a room that was artfully decorated, with everything golden and a flower pattern covering all the walls. There were four large portraits placed on each wall. They each seemed to be of the late Queen Kathleen. On the right side of the room there lay some extremely expensive furniture that was decadently decorated in the similar golden flower pattern. Even the chandelier was decorated in gold. I felt like I was in a fairytale.

"Good evening ladies you may call me Harvey and I've been instructed to see that you all fit in". He said in a chirpy voice.

"Excuse me for one moment" he said and walked out the door.

We all stood in silence before one of the girls started introducing herself."I'm Stephanie Porter I live on the other side of town" she said as she shook everyone's hands. She had dark brown hair that was straightened to fall flat on her head and dark green eyes. "Julianna Hamilton, I live in the village". They all looked at me as I said my name. I think it was the fact that I lived in the village that caught there attention.

One of the girls that wore a devious smile walked towards me. "I'm Lacey Jameson and that's Samantha and Heather". I tilted my head to the side to acknowledge the two girls. Lacey was strawberry blonde with dark green eyes. By the way she stood in the room I could the she was use to having her way like the spoiled little brat she is.

"You girls know each other?" I asked.

"Yes, we grew up together. It's always been a dream of mine to become Queen one day and now that dream has came".

I raised my eyebrows at her."You're not Queen yet"

She gave me a glare and narrowed her eyes. "I will be that's unless you think your going to be queen-" she giggled." Like he would marry some impoverished dirt from the village".

Of course these twats would think me to be dirt. They are not the first nor will they be the last to look down on me, but never the less I am proud of where I'm from and my parents did a fine job growing me up

"What a fine queen you would make-" I said mockingly."While you sit in your castle in the sky, your people are starving and dieing below you".

She rolled her eyes as if I was boring her.

The door flung open and in walked Harvey and behind him Prince Leonardo. He looked at us, his mouth in a hard line. His light blue eyes were piercing and intimidating and held a strong sense of domination. He walked closer towards us and the mood in the air was tense. "As you already know you will be here for three weeks, within these weeks four of you shall be sent home and only one shall remain and she shall be Queen-" he said."During your time here your wardrobe shall be provided to you. We were going to give you all separate rooms but the Prince decided it would be much more amusing if we put you in one room which has already been prepared. The rules are simple, whatever the Prince wants he gets, whatever the Prince says you obey"

What kind of rules were that?. Surely there has to be a catch in there somewhere. From where I'm standing it sounds like we are going to be his slaves for the next three weeks. A bit of fear passed over me as my mind processed everything that has now taken a toll in my life.

I looked up from my day dream to lock eyes with the domineering Prince himself I instantly swallowed hard. He narrowed his eyes at me before turning it back to Harvey.

"Come ladies its already getting late let me show you to your room". He said

We walked through the hallways with the prince and Harvey leading us. My eyes grew fascinated by the painting's that lined the wall. How I wish I could sit here all day and examine each and every detail that filled them. If I have to stay here for three weeks at least I have something to admire to pass the time. There was one particularly that caught my eye it was the one of the Prince, he was sitting on a chair with an extremely stern look on his face. Even in a painting they were able to capture the steely brooding emotion in his eyes. Whoever the artist was I wish I could meet him I would shake his hand. He captured every fine detail that one would have surely missed if not looking intently.

I was standing there staring at the captivating picture when I heard the Prince shouting to me."You there what are you doing standing all the way behind!" I snapped out of my daze instantaneously.

I looked ahead to see that I was trailing behind and quickly walked up avoiding all the eyes that were on me. The room in which they took us to had five beds that were neatly spaced and made with the most comfortable cotton they were able to find.

There were gold curtains around all the windows and gold flower patterns around the walls creating the most captivating scenery.

"This-" Harvey said moving his hands in the air." Is where you shall be sleeping, pick a bed and make your self comfortable, there are clothes in the wardrobe next to your beds".

I walked to the bed closest to the window. I could see the lake that covered the north side of the palace and the tall tress that gave the lake a beautiful glow. I wish I had my sketch book. The moon was giving me the perfect lighting and my fingers itched me.

"Enjoy your night Ladies tomorrow awaits" the Prince said and I didn't miss the devious smile that followed.

I sat on the bed after changing into my night gown. "Did you see how the Prince looked at me?" Lacey said and I internally groaned, someone's a bit cocky.

After settling in I allowed my self to succumb to the sleep that made my eyelids go heavy. I woke up in the middle of the night and i looked up at the clock it was two in the morning, a shed of moonlight peaking through the window filled the room. I looked over at the girls who were still sound asleep, the door creaked open slowly and I saw Lacey sneaking in quietly. I pretended to be asleep as she crawled on to her bed.

Where did she come from? I wondered, it figures she would sleep her way to the top not surprising at all. My eyes wandered to the ceiling as the moon light reflected off the gold lining on the ceiling I don't know how long i was staring at the ceiling for but the darkness slowly crept over me and I didn't fight it as my body willingly gave in.
