The next morning we were up early and having breakfast in the dining room. The Prince walked in looking absolutely breath taking with his dirty blonde hair sitting neatly on his head and his face neatly shaven. His light blue eyes were locked on mines as he walked towards the table and I ignored the strange feeling that erupted like a volcano inside me. I could hear the girls whispering girlishly besides me.
"Ladies I trust that you slept well-" he said with a tight smile. "Eat up we have a long day".
"That entails of what exactly?" I asked making everyone go silent as there heads snapped to me. Prince Leonardo raised a brow at me and his expression grew grim.
"That's a very good question which I'm not obligated to answer, so I suggest you just leave it to the mind to wonder".
I opened my mouth to reply but the way his eyes darkened as they narrowed at me were as if he was challenging me to utter a word to bite my head off.
I looked down in defeat. I had to remind myself of the rules again in order to suppress the bitter remark that was about to come out.
Harvey was the next to walk in the room looking like he to had a morning of fine grooming looking freshly shaved. "So ladies I can see your well rested and fed shall we begin with today's activities?". He said all to chirpy.
He raised his hands signalling us to stand. "Follow me" he said and we formed a line as we walked behind them.
The Prince walked in to a room then shut the door behind him. Harvey motioned us to sit on the chairs that were in the sitting room.
"You will go in to that room-" he said pointing to the door the Prince retreated in to. " One by one as the other comes out. Lacey your up first". He said and she got up most elegantly and walked over towards the door and pushed it. The confidence that was pouring off of her was enough send the rest of us home packing.
The only thing that was distracting me were the carnations that were glistening from the few rays of sun that reflected through the window.
I looked over when the door opened and Lacey walked out.
She still had that fake smile plastered on her face as she went back to her chair. Samantha was up next and like me she too looked a bit nervous.
My curiosity grew wider, what on earth were they doing in there. Whatever it is I hope its not harmful or degrading. Samantha came out within minutes, which was far shorter than Lacey's time. She smiled briefly and sat down. Stephanie and Heather followed suit and I dreaded when i heard Harvey saying my name snapping me out of a daydream.
I hesitantly walked over to the door as my fingers trembled when they came in contact with the doorhandle. I slowly pushed the door open.
The first thing that caught my eyes were the red and gold drapes around the windows that let little light enter the room. The walls were painted in a dark shade of red giving the room an ominous feel along with the bookshelf that were stacked neatly with only vintage collections.
Prince Leonardo was sitting at a desk with his hands crossed in front of him. His expression masked as his eyes were piercing in to me. I walked over to the desk and stood in front of him.
"Julianna Hamilton" He said and I felt my stomach do a flip as the words rolled off his tongue.
"Prince Leonardo" I replied. He raised his eyebrow slightly like he wasn't expecting me to say anything.
"Sit". He said sternly and I complied. "Julianna, so tell me what are your hobbies?".
"I love to sketch, its the only time my mind is at comfort". I replied.
"Are you any good at it?" He said with a slight tilt of the head.
"Why yes I am, its been my hobby for as long as I've remember. I'm fascinated with and by art, the way it magnificently captures every emotion without uttering a word" I rambled on.
He was silent as those steely eyes grazed over me intently. He reached in to one of the compartments of the desk and pulled out a sketchbook and a pencil and slid it to my side of the table. "Draw me then" he said his eyes never leaving mines. I reached up and took the sketchbook away from him, his fingers gently brushed against mines and the shivers ran all the way down to the pit of my stomach. I tried to mask any sort of emotion that erupted in me from the sudden contact.
I held the sketchbook in my arms as I started to outline the features on his face. The stillness in him was a sure sellout that he was use to this. Every time I looked up at him I had to bite my lip to surpress the feeling that that this Greek god was giving me. When I got to his lips I couldn't help but imagine what it would be like to feel them, the slight fullness in them alone was enough to combust any women that laid eyes on them.
"Done". I said as I placed the pencil down.
He stretched his hand out to me."Let me see". He said softly.
He took the book from my hands and looked at it as if he were about to grade me on it. His eyes were narrowed as he examined each detail.
"I have to say this was excellently drawn, do you have plans on furthering this someday?".
"I was planning on migrating one day to France".
"Why not just stay here and do it, England is well known as well for producing fine art".
"My mother will never allow that" I said wryly.
"If you become queen I could always turn a room in to your personal art room". He said.
"The matter of who becomes queen is up to you so I would not waste any thought on this if I were you".
"I would not call it wasting, I have to be prepared for everything and by knowing each of you more personally I can paint my own picture of my future Queen".
He leaned back on his chair looking at me as if I was a puzzle.
"Your blue eyes reminds me of a diamond ring my mother would wear all the time" he said looking deep in thought,"It is quite captivating actually" he said and a small smile broke at the corner of his lips.
"I do hope you can show it to me some time, it must be something you hold dearly to you for one to make such comparison".
"I will" was all he said still looking deep in thought.
He cleared his throat and stood."That would be all" he said and I stood up and bowed.
I began to walk away when I heard him speak again."You can have this, consider it a gift. Not many people get to sit and draw a picture of a prince close up" he finished as he handed me the sketchbook.
I held it against my chest tightly with a small on my lips and I turned and walked out.
As I stepped out every eye were locked on me. Harvey was busy reading a magazine and put it down as he saw me and stood.
"Ladies lunch will be held outside today please proceed there, the king will join us shortly".
The mention of the Prince formed butterflies in my chest...
