Chapter 24

When I woke the next morning the space next to me was empty. He left?...I got off the bed with the sheets wrapped around me and headed for the living room. Nothing.. He was gone, or was this all a dream?. The ache between my legs tell me different.

I sat on the couch and let my head fall into my hands. I could over think this, I'll start assuming things that probably isn't like he just wanted sex and now he went back to the palace to sleep next to her.

Or maybe I could be and optimist about this, he went for clean clothes or something. "Way to go Julianna you see a chest full of hair and fell into temptation" I said to myself dryly.

The front door opened suddenly to reveal a well groomed Greek god standing there. "I got you breakfast" he said cheerily.

He must have noticed my impassive expression because his faltered too. "Are we back to square one again?". His voice exasperated.

I raised my eyebrows and instantly stood." I wasn't even thinking like that, I thought you left".

"You think I would have sex with you and just leave?, this is not high school I'm not your boyfriend im your husband!".

I narrowed my eyes at him." You are such an arrogant, contemptuous fool"

"I could say the same about you love, maybe that's why I wish to spend an eternity with you, your challenging and I love that about you".

I sighed and ran my hand through my messy bed hair." It is to early to fight, I just woke and you weren't there sorry if that scared me" my voice soft to the end.

He moved closer to me and reached out and cupped my chin." Sorry I didn't want to wake you, I didn't expect you to wake so early".

I gave him a small smile." I appreciate your kind gesture".

"Anything for you love, now eat up I wish to take you back to the palace when where done eating".

Here we go again....I moved back a bit." You have some audacity you know, I never agreed to go back with you".

He looked a bit confused by this and his expression grew angry." You expect me to leave you here? What exactly do you want Julianna, do you really want this to be over?"

I looked down at my hands." No, I just.....I just don't want you think I forgave you so easy because your going to think it will always be like this".

He shook his head and pinched the bridge of his nose." I never thought for a second I was let off that easy, your still mad at me I know that but I cannot leave you here it is not safe Julianna and I do not wish to argue about your safety". He said and the way he eyed me as if he dared me to respond to it.

"Fine" I conceded, if were to this all morning we would just end up in another contradiction.

After breakfast I took a shower. He was standing at the door along with the guards, he looked as though he was having a heated argument as he spat commands at them.

"You know there are far better ways to get your point across without shouting" I deadpanned as I moved towards him.

He ignored my jab at him and the proceeded to ask if I was ready.

"Shall we go now?" I said a bit charmingly.

He smiled and not a plain one a heart warming muscle clenching smile.

When we arrived at the palace we escorted in quickly by the guards. The placed looked different as though he has everything redecorated, even his room. The bed was new the wardrobe, even the gold patterns on the wall were changed.
